Unhappy Squeaking stock motors! Why?

Hello, we are 7 guys now who have bought Mini-Z cars, and our cars all have one thing in common - they ALL squeak terribly (and slow down) when we apply the throttle.

This started to happen between 1,5 hours and 4 hours of runtime after breaking in the motors.

We have a quick fix for it (but this is NOT a permanent fix), we spray the back of motor with silicone spray (or oil) and the noise goes away for maybe 5 - 10 minutes of driving before it needs to be lubed again. Also I have tried to clean one on the inside and removed alot of dirt, and ran the motor dry (no lube) and it seemed to work for maybe 15 minutes, then the crap started again.

The surface we race on is rough concrete and concrete barriers aswell, maybe our track surface is partly to blame for our motor failures?

We have 3 x-speeds also and none of them have begun squeaking yet.

So any tips you might have on getting them to run good would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

I understand that the bushings have oil imbedded within the material...
I am guessing you have wore out your bushings....try a trinity royal oil or trinity bushing oil on them instead of what you are using..

yes must use a small machine oil... sewing machine oil etc... or buy the same thing relabled for RC use and pay more... do NOT use WD40 it will basicly clean the oil off of the shaft and make the motor squeek if its squeeking there is unwanted friction wich will slow the car down. -- or transplant the motor guts into a bearing can .

Thanks for the tips!

I have a bottle of sewing machine oil, and I will clean the motor again now and apply it. Hope this will fix it.

Is the X-Speed a BB motor since they dont squeek yet?

Nope. X-Speed is still bushing. And not all the oils are the same. What you've got will work for bushings though. Don't use the thicker oils for ball bearings. And only very specific types can be used as comm drops.

Hey I just applied the sewing machine oil in the motor and WOW it runs VERY smoothly now and its incredibly quiet to.

I have a tiny track in my house and will run it for a set of batteries to see if it starts to act up again, but the real test will be tomorrow at our rough track, hope it will hold up to that.

Also, what size bearings will fit the x-speed motors? Does this shop have them, if not where else?
