How about some tracks specially designed for AWD drifting? Make like a small scale model of a mountain side for drifting?

drifting would be fun but you have to be able to haul it to the gym
put the mountain up and tear it down. it would have to be portable.
if you would like to build one and bring it to the race i would love
to try that out. Marc you could make it like the pike peak hill climb.

I was actually thinking of a permanent place to do it and have it built into a wall. Start the race from the floor, and race up to the ceiling, then back down again for the "downhill". A set up like what I have in mind would have to be permanent. But a hell lot of fun!

Thoughs on changes to the club rules

First let me say what you all have done with the club in Fountain is amazing. I feel very fortunate to have such a great venue to share my interest in this hobby. Our race days are well organised and I really enjoy the race for the cup style series we are currently running. Originally I was looking for a way to restructe the points so it wouldn't be so crushing to miss a weekend but to date I haven't been able to come up with much. I did have 2 thoughts though.

1.) Have staggered point values ie. 1st 20, 2nd 16, 3rd 10, 4th 8, 5th 6, 6th 3

2.) Run 2 seperate series. 1 HFAY 2 Club That was if you needed to miss a weekend you could pick and choose.

Just my $.02

I like the Idea of a shorter season. and a club champion over all
we still need to run HFAY for 6 months. run HFAY in july and start
club points in aug. so if some racer want some time off they can
take some time off in july. do club points aug thru nov. and then
HFAy in dec. so theres only one race in july and one race in dec.
dec is our short month with christmas.
the many faces of dave-z racing

Suggestions:
1) Limit Series length to 3 months.
2) Assign points not times to "Time Trials" based on finishing position.
3) For each race date, having 3 qualifying rounds, followed by Mains.
4) Drop one or two races per series.
5) Have drivers marshall following their heat.
6) Have club races run only in a clockwise direction.
7) Mains line up according to qualifying.
8) Not have a Nascar Chase format. Run all classes straight thru, minus one or two dropped races.

First let me say wlecome to the boards Sam. I'm glad to see we are getting more traction on possible club rule changes.

Davey,

I like the idea of a shorter series. A little less forgiving if you have a bad weekend. I like it because even if you are out of the running for one series your less than 3 months away from a fresh start (especially improtant for people like me who get scheule conflicts and miss a few races)

Sam,
Suggestions:
1) Limit Series length to 3 months.
2) Assign points not times to "Time Trials" based on finishing position.
3) For each race date, having 3 qualifying rounds, followed by Mains.
4) Drop one or two races per series.
5) Have drivers marshall following their heat.
6) Have club races run only in a clockwise direction.
7) Mains line up according to qualifying.
8) Not have a Nascar Chase format. Run all classes straight thru, minus one or two dropped races.

I like a ot of these ideas too although I think some layouts lend themselves to running faster counter clockwise and would be hesitant to stop running that direction

Again just my $.02

Looking forward to the races this weekend.
