Well, you need to do a balancing wire and connector and attach it to aaa battary charger stand (atomic, pn, etc.. the one you like).
I will try to post latter a photo of mine.

the PN Racing charger, Route 246 etc... all have the same functionality basically. The other chargers that ppl have suggested look like a good option.

These are not cumbersome by no means. Nice and small and put out more then enough for what your looking to do if you want to go the PN charger, Rte 246, etc route

Power supply cost next to nothing now. Any laptop power supply will put out 12-15V at 4-5 amps. That is probably very clean power too because is for a computer. That is enough to charge 4 packs at once. Most people already have several around the house from old laptops. They are cheap on ebay or garage sale or surplus store. Of course, if you do need one right now, you can't find one
For mini-z, there is no reason you need a 10 or 20A power supply unless you are going to charge batteries for your entire club. Forget about modifying a desktop power supply either. Not worth the trouble for mini-z. I once had a 40A one from a server. Way way overkill. Could probably fry every single battery I have in a minute.

246 Euros???
I agree, it could bring you a beer and make you a massage whille the batteries charges...
I have an accucel 6 (turnigy), and it does the job for a fair price (something like 25 bucks on hobbyking), but I'm considering a Maha charger for my AAA's!

Oh... just to say, I bought an Maha C9000 Charger this morning, a few minutes after I post. So, I'll give it a shot on it and see what this charger is capable of!

That is what I have been doing for about 2 years. Just turn the laptop power supply over and read what the output voltage is. PN charger need around 11-18V. That probably covers about 95% of laptop power supply. Just strip the wire from the laptop and solder to the charger cord. If you get the polarity wrong, the charger have reverse polarity protection. Try not to do it though.
Older charger like the DuraTrax Ice had a smaller input range of 11-15V. the charger didn't like being at the limit with a 15V power supply that was lying around. All newer chargers should have a larger input range though.

The best thing that this chargers have, and other don't, is the possibility of equalize nimh chemical.
In the case of miniZ, this means you don't need a discharger/equalizer for nimh aaa batterys.
Using the balance port, you can equalize, balance and match a 4 aaa pack, viewing individual volts, internal resistance, etc ....
You can do breaking in motors, attach a wheel hotter, use the second port as a power supply, and it have 2 ports of charge/equalize.
King regards.

I want one of these. Anyone know of a US retailer who sells them?
