I don't typically record our races. I have a solo run on one of the tracks posted on FB on our Salt Lake Mini-z page if you are on FB.

I was on pace for 119 in the clockwise race but got tangled with the other cars a couple times. I'm still pushing for the 120 lap run in an official race. I've been close a few times but unless we are all clean it's almost impossible.

Russ is just as fast, but I'm a little more consistent that he is and that's the difference.

I still have the track setup as home, I can run a time trial and record it if you want.

personally, i would love to see it i'm always watching Bill, Mike and others in our club to see their line and it astounds me every time how they hit the same line over and over... i'm finally to the point where i am comfortable in aiming for and hitting the 100 mark from time to time. i'd like to get to the point where i'm at 95-100+ all the time but it's a work in progress

We try to reinforce the principal that with consistency comes speed vs. the other way around naturally the first inclination to do better is to increase speed. speed without control however it fruitless it's a tough message to get across some times.

these are a few runs I had on my phone. they are solo runs. one is a time trial and one is another video I made for a guy I've been working with in Chicago about driving lines etc. their typical race is 4 minutes so I did a 4 minute run on the HFAY BTE # 14 track. this was back in December of 2015.

HFAY BTE 14 Solo 4 minute Run (Racer 70T)

this one is a time trial for HFAY track # 6 (March 2015)

HFAY Time Trial Track 6 (Racer 70T)

This one is a race from a few years ago but is a 3 car race on HFAY Track 2 (August 2013)

HFAY Track 2 Race 3 cars (Racer 70T)

I believe in this statement 100%. and it's especially important on these smaller size tracks. One wreck cost you a lap, and even bumping the rails can throws you off enough that it can be a 1/2 lap pretty easy. this can also affect others racing in the same race as well. I know that when we have more wrecks it not only affects those that do it but also everyone else because they either need to slow down or adjust their line to get around thus casing a longer lap time. A few times a race and it can cost a drop in laps for sure.

Usually what gets me is when I'm following another car looking to make a pass and they hit and inside corner right in front of you. this one is almost unavoidable and it's one that gets me quite often.

faster is not faster unless it is a controllable speed. I have seen it from racing mini-z's to 10th, 12th pan cars and 10th Touring cars. you'll have someone come out and have a blazing fast car but without control they end up either last place or worse (broken) because they overdrive and hit other cars, rails, walls etc. I can't tell you how many times I saw someone drive their 10th Pan, 2 cell lipo boosted esc. straight into a brick wall becasue they missed a turn because their car was faster than they could drive it. Learn to drive a line, then add speed little by little.

One thing that I have noticed personally and it think it's important to note, you need a high speed setup if you are going to be consistent at a faster speed. My car is a handful at slower speeds but drives wonderful at full speed.
