Brian,
BTE is a great idea. We'll have plenty of time to prepare for the next BTE after July.

Sunday because racers who regularly race on Saturdays elsewhere and our PA buddies can participate.
I''ll find out from HFAY director to see if a racer can race twice on a weekend and submit only the best times. If this is the case NYRC can put down the layout on Friday night/Saturday morning to make this a two day event(two race days in a row you pick one to participate; or race both days)

No Re-Run according to HFAY director, but......
"The rules state that you can practice as much as you want, however once you run the race and say this is it, you can't re-run to improve results.
if the driver wanted to run the first day as a practice and know full well the times he runs will not be valid because they were essentially "pracitce races". then the time from the second day could be submitted for the better or worse.
you can mix times as needed for those that will be attending only one day. I'd simple ask the driver if this is the race they want to count. if it's a yes, than that's the time that is submitted."
NYRC will extend the HFAY event to Tuesday 7/14/09 also, since on Tuesdays we have a different group of regulars.

I'll be there for Sunday to help you guys with the event... format for sending results, and tech.
Basically it's an honor system... just like any racing, the flag drops and there is no going back. For instance, the drivers in our Mains knew that once the race started, that was it. They knew that there was no second chance, if they broke down (which one or two did)... that was just tough luck.
Your racers can participate in all the qualifying they want, but once they run in a Main with all drivers in that Main having the understanding that "this is THE race"... there is no other participation allowed in any other Mains.
It's really not complicated, it just seems that way when explained in emails and posts. I'm sure you guys get where we're coming from but it's no problem for me to head up there and help out. I can't race in the Mains because I myself have already ran my races (see how that works? ). So I'll just head up there to hang out and maybe do some tech and timing.
The rest of the PA gang ran their events already, so they can't run again either!

Ed, you should still be able to run for fun, just not submitting the new time. I may try for the tuesday or saturday race...

Well, if they need a filler in the Mains... sure thing. I know I can run the heats too, always fun being lapped traffic up in NYC! Depending on the weather, I'd like to ride up on my new toy so I'll have to pack light.
