The rep told me that it's not a "limited edition" item, but you're right arch, it's unlikely they'll produce more.
As for kyosho's involvement I didn't ask about that but maybe one of the guys here who bought it can share pics or information about the packaging.
Only the cardboard box was different from the usual RTR's, it was completely blank with no clear opening. Everything else is typical Kyosho, the instruction manual and ASC box as well. The finish of the body itself looks like a Kyosho product to me, but I can't certify it is the case.
There was also an ownership card with it certifying it being and exclusive product from DM.
Box can be seen on pictures 2&3 here. Certificate
do typical autoscales have mold stamps? if so i would look for one of those.
I have not seem mold stamps on autoscales. If not on the actual body the mold stamp would be on a sprue but it seems it's done in one shot with a 5 piece exterior and 3 piece interior pull.

At least it is written "made in China" on the cardbox and the chassis has the typical engravings "made in China" on chassis frame and "made in japan" on the servo box.
All of this looks very "Kyosho" to me, what do you think?
are there any other examples where kyosho attached the window peice to the top side? i don't recall seeing that done before.
The lotus Europa has the windows and roof attached as well with a clear roof that was painted.
I guess they did it on the Corvette because the window pillars are very thin.
@Herman: these are just press fitted hubcaps over regular wheels.
i wonder then if its possible to gt one of these autoscales? or did kyosho make the production run exclusively for dm?
I doubt that this body can be found as an ASC. After I got mine I asked to DM sales if it was possible to buy a body separately. This was the answer:
"Thank you for your recent inquiry. Unfortunately, we do not contain any car parts for our diecast models. I apologize for the inconvenience."
I guess they miss a big point here, one should talk to the marketing dpt
Maybe after the license has expired this body will be added to the Autoscale collection? I hope so as I really want to race this car
is there any way to determine the total qnty produced? this could be rare or there could be hundreds/thousands collectiing dust on thier shelves.
No "number # out of #" written anywhere. There is only this number printed on the box 1670001000018
Maybe I have the 18th made? It would be interesting to know the number of others, I think someone else from the MZR forums owns one and a guy from the CRC in Germany also ordered one.
