My Limited Edition Black (Cherry) Enzo
I don't know if it's because I favor dark colors, or if it's because they're so rare in the US, but when I first saw the Limited Edition ICS Black Enzo I immediately wanted one.
I then decided that since undecorated Enzo bodies are available and I was only shooting for looks (and not the electronics) it wasn't really necessary to try and aquire a real one.
So... I bought a body... chose a dark-yet-not-black paint... some TaGu wheels... a handful of parts from here and there... one thing led to another... and, well... it's finally done.

More pics of the chassis and running gear.
Really wanted to "black & chrome" the whole thing to compliment the black cherry paintjob.
Only problem now is that I can't race it... it might get a scratch...
Oh well, what the heck... what good is a mini-z sitting on the shelf, right? I can always paint another one (or three)

Wow... that looks amazing! Just looking at the paint job makes me thirsty for a Stewart's Black Cherry soda.

Thanks!! No, the body came pure white with all the windows, taillights, Ferrari emblem, body mounts, etc in a little bag along with a tube of glue. You paint everything and then assemble it yourself, like a model kit.

Those are TaGu "Achilles" wheels from Wild Z Racing. I LOVE those guys. Not only can you order the exact pattern and offset you want, but they make them to order and ship them from Hong Kong... and they got to me in less than two weeks. I added the "disc brakes" separately. I know they add a little weight but I was going more for looks than light weight for racing. I'm a little biased but I think they look even nicer in "real life" than they do in those pics. I'm really happy with the whole project.

Thanks It's two light coats of #28137 Gray Primer, two heavy coats of #28113 Black Cherry Pearl, and two heavy coats of #28139 Ultra Gloss Clearcoat. All canned Testors Model Master spray paints. I would have used thinner coats for a normal model, but I figured it would need to withstand a little bit of a beating so I sprayed it on a little thick. Came out a little textured because of that, but the more it dries the smoother it seems to get. It hasn't been quite a week yet and laquer takes at least 7-10 days to fully cure.
Oh, and the details (like the turn signals, intakes, Ferrari emblem) were done with standard bottled Model Masters paints and a teency weency brush

Yup, that's me! Thanks!
I'd love to try an RCP track (although I'm used to racing on dusty ol' carpet).
Where can I find more info on this Easter Cup Race?
