The bastards have free tickets to all 3 days of the GP @ Albert Park, Melbourne. I work for a paper chemical company, and to brown-nose the customers, the Managing Director has purchased tickets for the sales reps and managers to take various ppl on each day...probably in order of how big the current or potential contracts are, depending on which day they are taken. Oh well, I am probably only a few years off from being invited...I work in the QC lab and look after the environmental policies......gotta get my foot into other areas if I am to get into the GP for free..."sigh"

Too right West.F1, I have worked my way from the bottom (production operator) into my current position with zero academics other than high school, where as the sales reps all have degrees in chemistry...so they have started in their current positions. S**t, I have been at my workplace for over 5 years now, and our current MD is the first ever to do this..he did it last year, and will continue to do so until he moves on. I hope the next MD follows the tradition he has started. I hope to be with this company for the term of my working life at this point, as if I was to leave now, I would be throwing away too much experience, as well as the possiblity of getting into Albert Park for free!!hehehe...for what does my motivation truely exist?jk!

LOL, a year ago in February I joined this company as a pre-sales consulting engineer
In July the MD gave me a grandstand ticket to the British GP.
What a day, it was amazing.
As for your climb up the corporate ladder, good on you, ever contemplated Open University? Remember, you are never too old to learn, that's why I bought an Overland
I've also been trying to "scam" free tickets to the Melbourne GP, but being in a similar situation to Psyklops, I've just missed out by a rung or two on our corporate ladder...maybe next year.

Hehe..good score Mondo!!
Ya I will be having further discussions with my boss about furthering my skills base...I hope something will come of it...we just have to find something that can be done by correspondance, as I am unable to be off-site for long periods of time....ahh...I will get there eventually...ahhh the GP...I will be able to hear the cars from my parents house!!!(but not see)
