Question 900 nimh AAA's

so the 900's are starting to hit the market...

is there a limit to nihm capacity we can use with a stock mini-z PCB?

in other words, we cant use a SO4 motor without a fet upgrade...
so can we use 900 + nihm AAA batteies?....

I'm not sure which batteries you looked at but I recently saw some labeled "900s" as in a battery name, but the fine print actually had 850 NiMh. Be careful. There is also a thread with a link to some batteries in Japan that are 1000's. Myself, I can't read the webpage so I can't tell you much about those batteries.

mAH

It's the amphour rating which means it's gonna last longer.

are you tring to say 900's or 850's are no faster than 600's?
they just last longer......
what im getting at is can the pcb take the punch...
there is quite a diffrence....

Amphour 101

ok amphour rating is basically how many amps per hour the battery can provide. If you have a battery rated at 1amp hour then that batt will provide 1 amp for 1 hour. Depending on how much current is drawn by the equipment the battery is providing power for it could last long or short. If current draw by the equipment is say 1/2amp the battery will provide 2 hours of runtime because the battery is rated for 1 amphour. If I lost you sorry. LOL.

Basically the higher the amphour rating, in our case Milliamp hour, the longer the battery will last. Yes IC3's provide more punch after a fresh charge than the x-mod batteries from radio shack. The difference is only 100mah between the two but there are other factors that make a battery better than it's comptetitor. Di-electric fluid, di-electric plates, there are a number of factors.

Your question was can the PCB handle it. Well if you run your car say using a 2x2 FET upgrade and you are using a 900 mah battery you will be running for longer and your car will be drawing alot of current becuase of the FET stack. Chances are you will burn up a FET or the whole PCB or even just the motor by running the car for longer becuase of the higher amphour rating. The batteries are connected in series so the current is constant and voltage is addative. That's why people do a 5th or 6th cell mod and get more power but the car batteties drain faster because there is so much current draw.

If you did a say a 5 cell mod and also attached a 6th cell in parallel you would get a slightly longer run time than say just a 5 cell mod in series. If you want to know more than ask because I think you probably don't care reading this far.

Simply put, voltage = punch, and amps = capacity

or Voltage = the size of carburator you put on your engine (bigger carb = more power)
while amps = the size of the fuel tank (having more fuel doesn't make you any faster, you can just run longer)

So you have to be an A$$ about it? I try to give a little advice to someone who asks a question and they take my "internet forum" humor as an insult? Do me a favor and go play hide and go F Yourself jackhole. And no I don't think I'm clever I just come here to answer questions and learn new stuff. If you didn't want advice or a little knowledge then go to the barney forums little kid.

The crowd heats up quick around here. I seem to get myself into this trouble lately too.

i think the main thing is that people read stuff the way they would say it, not as people would say it. people here are from many different parts of the country, sometimes even the world. some phrases may mean something totally different in other countries, and yes, even I myself have to remember this.

Its the internet

Yeah I can understand that and I try my best to always respect and not judge people by how they post. This guy came back and attacked me and shouldn't have. I don't care if you are 12 or 112 or if you're a bum on the street or some hightech engineer. If you've got a question and you ask it here, espect it to be answered. There are alot of people on this forum that share the same passion as the next. If you want to know or need to know we are all here to try and help. If you don't want to help and want to be an a$$hole to good people then like I said......well I don't have to repeat myself you know how I feel.... DFWMe

did you get that off of a movie or are these your true colors....?

p.s. well I probably would have taken your post as very helpful and may have wanted to continue learning something from you...
but your internet forum humor did not seem very funny to me...
im sure I am not the only one that looked at it that way...
but nobody can now that you edited your post....
you donít put snide comments like "If I lost you sorry. LOL."
I should have copied your original post for others to see your other comments,
and the way you portrayed yourself as the nimh king...
anyway good luck with yourself and mighty ways...

p.s.s I am not a little kid. I am an average joe looking to talk with normal people about mini-z......now that you have revealed yourself to me as a jerk, I not so good to know ya...again good luck with yourself....

If I lost you sorry?

Ok how many people really want to get into amphour ratings? How many people care. Lets say you and me only. You asked the question I answered it. It's as simple as that. Sorry that you took offense to my "If I lost you sorry" because honestly I have been sitting in an electronics class day in and day out learning about the same crap over and over again and it's all boring dry crap that I have to learn to be a better electrician. I'm sharing what I've learned just like everyone else here.

As for editing, I didn't remove anything. Trust me I don't need to. It's a forum you can read it and I can type it. It's freedom of speech.

If this is a battle of wits don't bother. I get bored and punchy easily.

I never mentioned anything about nimh either.Amphour is for every kind of battery.

And my comment about you playing hide and seek with rosey, it's my true colors when you ask for it. I'm a real nice guy on the net and in person. If you can't read a reply on the net without being offended then have your dad set higher parental guidence settings on your computer son........
