Question Electronics question

Anyone know what the maxium voltage a Kyosho mini-z receiver can tolerate? Somone told me that the mini uses volts - 4 AAA batteries equals 6 volts. Can it handle 9 volts. I want to use the electronics for another application but I don't want to fry the board. Hope someone can help. Thanks

Maybe not all of them (iWaver)? I thought I read somewhere about Lithium batteries frying the single steering FET?

yes, the only thing lower quality would be the steering, which you arent going to be using

Thanks...you've been a big help....I'll probably just get an Iwaver readyset becaues I need the transmitter / throttle as well. Is there any difference in Iwaver 01, 02, 04 or MR2 sets? Do all have reverse and proportional throttle response and the same board?

Sorry for all the questions...what would be an "new" Iwaver set? I see all kinds on Ebay and online. I just want to know what I'm looking for.

i mean the newer production, not newer models, most likely all of the ones you find on ebay are newer iWavers

Max voltage of F1 mini z board

I've just complete a 7.4 volt lipo conversion to my car and it seems to be holding up ok.
I've installed 2x2 4562 fets with a heatsink and am running a 37 turn motor and nothing is getting to hot.
I think about 8 volts is the maximum voltage that can be run on this board as the diodes underneath the board are rated at 6 volts.
Any higher voltage would require changing all of the diodes on the bottom of the board.
Converting to Lipo's gives an amazing increase in performance due to the lighter weight, higher voltage and ability to deliver higher currents.

I believe the mr-02/monster pcb board will take up to 10 volts

Hills

A lithium battery set up will not fry the fets any faster than none lithium, the fets are current limited not voltage limited. (well.. I am sure they are voltage limited but there tolerance range is at least 10 volts), just checked and the fet is max 20 volts.
