Spec Motor?

I have been reading a lot about a thread discussing spec motors, and when I click the link it says that I do not have permission to view that page. Has it been moved to a private subforum of some sort? I would have liked to read everyone's views and opinions, as well as the possible candidates as a spec motor.

this is being decided by the hfay judges, thus it is being discussed privately. when we are ready to move forward with it, we will post as much information as we can. right now, there just isn't much to say really and not to be rude in any manner, its a change voted on by the judges and will remain private until that is done.

what i can say is:
fet safe
ball bearing can
drilled can

please be patient. i am hoping that in the next couple months all will be revealed.

Any closer to a decision?

Everyone wants to know..

We have now run a couple races with the bigger fets, they make a big difference. What will next season bring?

Spec Motor Rules..

I see that the motors come with the Atomic Carbon Brushes, and they are easily replaced without opening the can. Are there going to be rules on what brushes you can run?

I just want to know so I can stock up on the parts that our club members are going to need..

Thanks.

Motor questions..

Now that we all have the new motors..

Can the brushes be legally swapped? Is there an easy way to tell them apart?

I can't wait to run them..

only with the same type brushes, see post from brian.

i have not seen other types from atomic however it appears there is a color difference between the various materials which should be caught in tech inspections. so, that being said can we get someone to post a guide on how to spot the differences?

I just needed a clarification to the word 'should'..

I know a smart @$$ response.. I have used the silver brushes on another motor, and I don't recall them looking any different. I hope there is an easy way to tell them apart if we are going to not allow the change.

I now have one in my AWD, I can't wait to run it..
