5/8" Tubing fits aaa's and is $1 / foot. the site doesn't list any particular size for individual aa's though so you'll have to read their recommendations for sizing the heatshrink.
That seems really good...
I should have looked into that... oh well. They all found their way to the trash. In any case, without the origional wrapper under the shrink wrap you wont get the 15 minute charge time, and that is a big problem for these batteries.

Cam...get the x-mod batteries with the charger.. You get 8NiMh for 19.99 (green slow charge not the silver fast charge...but for $20 you can get a fast charger. Mine does 8). I wen tto the Rat SHack on 110 by Jillians...I couldnt believe they had the same product for that much less.

The chargers it comes with SUCK...though I'm sure theres a way to use the insides reversed to make a bulb discharger.

With regards to shrink wrap.

I was looking at the batteries while putting them into the charger and I realized that there are 2 prongs per battery on the charger. THese prongs will hit the black band around the battery when the batteries are in the charger. I think that it'd be a good idea to aviod wrapping the black band portion of the batteries if you want them to charge at 15 mins.

This is all speculation, but it makes sence to me and that is why I'm posting it.

I've noticed the same thing at some of the local Targets and Walmarts. However, there is a store here called Meijer that still carries them.
