Fell in love with Revell Beetle Limousine and ordered in Ebay. It will make a almost perfect fit to my mini-z MA0020 awd for sure!
But now I need to figure out best way to attach it to the car. So thinking of getting this two parts to glue inside the Beetle body .. but cannot find them anywhere, especially part nș1
Can anybody give a help or advise how to fit it?
Thanks in advance

Cool idea. I hope you post pictures when you are done. I think you are going to have to manufacture the front mount you circled because it is always molded into the bodies. I would do this one of 2 ways: trim styrene or even old credit card/gift card plastic to fit the front vw contours and build a box to fit whatever mount you have that has the correct spacing. You can build up layers with plastic and epoxy for strength. The second way is to model and 3d print it. There are free modeling programs available that are easy to use such as Tinkercad and you can get it printed at Shapeways or a similar company if you don't have access to a printer. Good luck!
you can get nice side clips on Shapeways (3d printed), look for the ones that you can tweak the height and position.
Front clip is more tricky.
Since I imagine you wont be racing with this body unless you want to turn your efforts into many pieces...
you could try to use just velcro to mount the body. Velcro adhesive strips work great, easiest system for sure, just get long velcro strips on the sides and possibly the nose and tail and you are sorted, plus you can allow yourself not to be very precise with it. show us th final piece!
Another thing that might be useful would be to cut windows from a piece of transparent lexan and make your own, as the transparent plastic used for windshields in static models cracks really easy.
What about a donor car for a nose clip/mount? I imagine you could find some beat up old body, Dremel out the entire nose clip "box" as well as some surrounding material, and glue it into the front of the Beetle. If you look for something like the MR01 Toyota Vitz, you can get a really stubby nose clip that seems like it would fit the Beetle.
scabbing parts from a cheap donor car seems the best route if you don't have access to 3d printing or someone that does this as these can easily be printed and hand fit to the model body. I always wanted to adapt an EK9 model body to a mini-z and now may be the time to do it.
The hot gun method is by far the best to adjust the front and side fittings ... you can simply heat it and reposition until you have a good fit.
Fitting is OK, I am monting it on my Atomic DRZ for a Beetle drifter, chassis is 94mm, same as the Mini-Z AWD I have !!
Now need to paint it and mount all the lights, bumpers, etc ...
Awesome mate! Nice one! Great job!
But tell us about your carpet track, please! Is it hand made? May be you can share some photos here or you can PM me?
Thank you!
