They should call that thing an Autoscale eater!!!! The first good wreck and the Autoscale would be in pieces. Slot cars are way faster than Mini-z's and no RCP barriers. Could be cool for dragsters though.

They may be faster but they are also a lot lighter,so the crashes will not be so bad.
Some of my slot car bodies seem a lot thinner and weaker than autoscales and have stood the test so far.

Yep slot cars lexan shells are more resistant to impact than Autoscale plastic body, unpainted autoscale body are more resistant than the painted ones. That’s the reason that on larger scales as 1/0, 1/8 & 1/5 only lexan shells are used too. The key is on the lexan flexibility and shock absorbent capability.
