Initial D DVDs
Alright, i'm hooked like a salmon in fishing season. Damn this is an awesome show. I want to know where everyone has seen the best prices on the Initial D DVDs? I am hoping to get them in full seasons or possibly more. I saw one online dvd rental place that rents a 7 disc initial d boxset.... I was going to just rent it but there is no way that I can just do that... I'm getting the dvds, the autoscales, etc... it's aweomse... I have everyone I know addicted. lol
Let me know where I should look for prices!
Thanks,
Twenty-Se7en

Are you looking for the tokyopop or import versions? The tokyopop version there is only seven disks out so far. Number seven has me floored, This is where the storie gets good. I don't want to tell what happens just watch and see. My guess is the next two disks will cover "Stage One", but I heard that tokyopop is going to put stage one and two together.

i get all my dvd's from best buy for somethign like $15 each.
i think tokyopop is just going to continue releasing them in sequential order with no relation to stages meaning they make no mention of them.
i just fnished watching episodes 23-25, the movie and extra stage and they are awsome! it's going to be awhile before the dvd release catches up though. stage 4 is already up to something like episode 5! i haven't seen any of those yet.

Yeah, I've seen up to episode 10 and i'm so hooked now... it's insane. I don't know what version I would need, if the imported version don't have English subtitles then i'm screwed into getting the tokyopop versions... I don't really care about the english dialogue, as long as I can read it.
Yeah, into Stage 4 so far already ... does this come on any american television stations? Or are we to be subjected to waiting for the dvds?

Yeah, that is what I have been watching, the downloaded subtitled version. What does the Tokyopop version have to offer over the standard imported versions? Anything cool, or just an option to watch it with english dialogue?

the option to watch with english dialogue is the main option. the other stuff is just flashy editing in my opinion. i'm really happy with the tp. dvd's however i do recommend that everyone see the subtitled version as well. alot gets lost in the translated dvd's.
anyone know where to download non torrnet stage 4 episodes? i tried the torrent stuff and after 61 hrs, i never got onew file to download completely. not to mention all that software is full of adware/spyware. i installed bit torrent and it took hours to clean all the garbage that came with it.

I hate the torrent downloads and never run with them. I have 4th stage episodes downloaded through Kazaa, dvd rips actually, they look amazing, but have not watched a funny episode. I think that it might have taken 3 days to download it though, I can't remember which set took that long and it may have been them. Either way, great quality and subtitled. K++

The only thing about the imports that I tried was to find sites to download from. I found a few that had them, but where removed. I assume because the tokyopop versions came out. I haven't got any import DVD's cause my DVD player will not run them on account of the region codes. My old DVD player is an old GE unit that was one of the first one that came out. It will not even play a CD-R even if it's recorded like a standard CD . Most CD players have no problem running a CD-R or even a CD-RW for that matter.

One other question, is there any changes in the subtitles on the import versions to the Tokyopop versions? Or even the dubbs for that matter. I have played a ton of RPG type games, and on games more often those are translated overseas. With Anime (a US release) that is most are translated over here. So between those there can be nit-picky details that may be lost.

i think there is enough of a difference between the japanese subtitled and american dubber with subtitles to warrant watching both. for instance, the whole relationship between natilie and the benz driver is glossed over in the american version and you get what's going on between them in the original version. that's one naughty girl
