I have 4 MAS-010s, lots of fun. On a couple of them, the xtals do not make a good connection and I get intermittent, or in one case, no response. The affected ones are using the PN Racing laydown xtal adapter to fit the body (Lambo Murcielgo and a MB Mclaren).
Anyway, can I make a better connection, such as by soldering the xtal/laydown adapter semi-permanently? Should I drip solder into the holes and push the xtal in while it's soft, or should I connect the xtal via soldered wires?
I would put a thin coat of solder on both crystal adapter posts to make a tighter fit.
Thanks for the reply! Sounds good, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't making some grievous blunder, since I've already screwed up my share of pcbs and other parts.
