It was nice to see everybody again and start the season out on the right foot. We had enough racers for all the classes. Which is always good. The racing was close. Some races were won by a few seconds, others were won by a few laps. Jovian made his overlander into a monster jeep. Looked real cool with a dude sitting in the drivers seat. Mike's trade mark Mario Brothers F1 body was replaced with a stock body for week 1. It was missed, might make a return next week. The new timing system was not perfect, next week should be better. I think we worked some of the bugs out.

In the F1 A Main final the real action was the fight for second place. Little Mike was having problems pulling away from Juan and Juan passed him briefly with 1 lap left. Not to be out done little Mike passed him rite back and the two remained neck and neck. Juan tried one last time to pass him but clipped the last corner and finished a few feet back for third.

Not much action In Overland. Except for the constant flipping over. In the A Main final the leaders overlander broke with 6 laps left( he finished 3rd). That left Juan and Stephan to battle it out for first. Jaun managed to keep his overlander upright a little more than Stephan and took the win. Overlanders sure keeps the turn marshals busy.

Stock seamed to go on forever. Stock always seams kind of slow and boring after the overland races. In the A Main final, Mike and John resumed their battle from last season with Mike taking the win. Next followed by John and Juan beating Little Mike for 3rd. All the top finishers used foam tires.

The Mod A Main final started out with John taking the early lead(I think he was a head for the first 13, 14 laps, we race 20 for the final) before Mike caught him (thanks to lap traffic). After that Mike never looked back and finished half a lap head. John finished second and the rest of the field were a few laps back. Mike and John both used SO3's in their cars. Mike used a 7 teeth pinion gear, Think John used a 12. Both used M8 transmitters and both limited their forward percentage. Mike only used 60%, John used 85%.

Anybody in the Bay Area is invited to race with us at Tokyo Tekki, we race every Sunday starting at 1 P.M. There is no entry fee.

Here are the standings after week one.
