Looking for...

Plastic-kit (resin, poly, whatever) of a Citroen 2CV/DS body in 1/24-28 scale.

Does anyone know good sites to search product lists for this?

Because my dad & I own an all-original 1979 2CV6?

(edit)

Laugh if you want, i'm proud of it. Cars like his are selling for 14 to 15 thousand US dollars, and we paid a fraction of that when we bought it, and it's running like a top. Hits 6-7 thousand RPM without even the slightest hesitation.

They frigging rock :-)

We passed tons of people on the I-89 and I-91 going to amhurst (for the 12th annual ICCCR ( http://icccr.org ) ) from Ottawa where we live... (800 km's each way), and the car was super comfortable.

you're right. Flat opposed twin -- 602cc's of FURY! *grin*

We cruised along at 105-115 km/h, which is about the fastest Ontarians want to go on the Interstate... the cops pulled over a few ontario/quebec plates that weren't going too much faster than we will.

heh.

My dad's car can go about 130km/h now that we cleaned up the carb a few weeks ago... but he's got a tire that needs replacing, so it vibrates madly at about 122....

He's over in france right now and going to be bringing back 4 tires for it in his cargo

hehehe

LOL! I wish.
Josheus, I cruise from Aylesbury to Bristol in excess of 100mph on the A34 (Past the M40) and M4.
I do a 125 mile trip in 90 minutes, including 30 miles plus of metropolitan driving. I do this twice daily
I am bad
I also depend a lot on sponsors, who are motorists who drive big Mercedes, Audis and Beemers, you overtake them, look them up and down and gas it.
Because I drive a turbo-diesel, I know they'll wanna "put tings into perspective" and overtake me.
I then tuck up behind them and exploit my 130BHP turbo diesel and it's 6 speed gearbox. I tail them at abut 110-115mph at two car lengths distance.
I drive a new Reanult Laguna-II executive. Not my idea of a fun car but with a 75 litre tank, I do about 570 miles on a tank driving the way I do.

Hehehe, when I still had that old 300BHP+ Imprezza, I could cruise at 140mph. The Beemer and Merc brigade never used to challenge me. In those days, I was the "sponsor"
Oh, the Audi TT boys used to try, but because my car looked fairly standard and only had one small WRX STi decal on the rear, I could fool them.

Regarding the subject at hand, the 2CV's.
I think they are unusual old machines and I'd love to own one just for the sake of it.
They have inboard front disc brakes, mounted against the gearbox a-la Alfa Romeo.
Citroen designed them for suburban and metropolitan area use.
They are extremely reliable vehicles too according to owners.

If a 1/24 kit was adapted, I don't know how you'd fit the Mini-Z's rear right wheel and diff under that wraparound fender.
Another thing I ask is: Would you find wheels thin enough? LOL them 2CV's have wheels like Oreo's

Yep. I'll post some photos of the ICCCR for y'all once I get them developped and scanned.

Gotta love the 15L / 250KM (16.6km/L) fuel usage.

It's exactly what the world needs. A small, cheap, reliable, automobile.

They're surprisingly safe too, one of the guys that's active in the community took a head-on in his 2CV6 Charleston Special at 80km/h or so, and came out alive, if not a little shaken up. The car was trashed though. He recovered what he could, and had another one imported.

Plastic model

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/outerl/lup3rdclaran.html
Seems like a breeze.. though I think it may be a tight squeeze to fit onto a mini-Z. maybe some 1/20 scale model?
