orion lap counting system question...

does anyone have the team orion lap counting system? Iwas thinking about picking one up and wanted an opinion. Also anyone tried it with z's (Iwas mainly gonna use it for 1:10)? I hear they are revising it to work with AMB-it personal transponders...is there any truth to this? Is this possible as the orion uses IF technology?

thanks all....

and at about $125 it seems like a great practice tool...I;m not skilled enoght to fiddle with my M8 while racing to do lap times...so I'm gonna let orion do it for me.

What have you used it on?

1/10 touring. Most radio button laptimers are useless as far as I've found. I can estimate a laptime better than the variation of me hitting a button with my thumb.

pchan0, you need to clean up that pit a little...

pchan0, can you tell me if there is a difference with the lap counter turned on or off on your z? in otherwords does your z lose its punch when turned on?

I'll take a messy one next time for you...

The lap counter takes quite abit of power from the Z and also weighs alot to affect handling, different set up are required. Punch is same with or without the transponder...

I have since sold mine though as I don't use it as often as I want to make it worth while in my pit.
