Arch2b,
Ringer was thinking late Sept. but the hfay is on the 19th so that would put the races back to back. How about the first Saturday in October, its the 3rd.
If everyone is ok with have it at Awesome rc then thats where it will be held.I can bring a little more track and fill the room up. Sound good?
Philip,
Thanks for the pictures of the nose plate, I got mine instaled yesterday and it is great. With 2 shims it is the same height as stock and it is alot stronger that I though it would be. Another great product.

In our last eight week point series we ran a Renault Spec Body class. It was very successful. Have fun!

i no longer have the body. i spent several days stripping off the aluminum tape and repainting the body, applying trim tape, etc. only to try acrylic clear coat this time (tried enamel last time) and the damn thing orange peeled to hell. in a fit of rage and disappointment i smashed the damn thing. i literally just paid for some stickers to use on it too.

That sucks Ray. You have to be careful what types of paint you use together, acrylics and enamels dont interact with each other very well
You know, if you order one Thursday and put one day shipping on it you could have it by Friday if you are lucky. Depending on the cost.

i tried enamel gloss last time and had the same problem. i wouldn't have been so upset had i not spent so much time on this one. it was simple design but took a lot of care in doing it.

Arch...i feel for you. Thats why i get Davey G. to paint them for me. I would rather decal/detail the bodies. Painting is rewarding but can go so wrong.

i really enjoy the painting, thats the kicker and why i guess this one pissed me off so much. i'd ask davey to do it but it's not his style. i just bought the f'ing stickers too.
i think i'm going to have to sit this one out. i'll order another body and make the 2nd race. we are doing a couple aren't we? i was hoping we would.
i have another dell small form factor pc (same style as hobby works pc) that i have to donate to awsome rc as a permanent track pc if your interested bill? we would just need a donated monitor.

I'm telling you Ray, try Testors Pactra in whatever color you want. 1 coat gives you superb finish and helps enamels stick better onto it. Withstands gloss just fine as well. I'd just toss whatever orange you've tried using twice now.
Examples:
Just 1 coat on each, no primer.

I'd like to do a mini series if everyone else is cool with it, maybe one a month. 3-4 races, we can come up with a simple points system for scoring.
I dont want to answer for Bill, but a dedicated pc would be great, I'm sure he gets a little tired of carrying his lap top around all the time. Last weekend core was dropping laps, the 30 second lap times seemed a little strange to us.
