Great Food!!
The SummerNats will be awesome. My new bright yellow corvette is looking good (not driving good- just looking). Macho Nacho will be on site and ready to go 9 am. Authentic taco and burritos. Sabrett hotdogs and burgers and of course potato salad . Thanks in advance to Al- Every race at ActionRC Minispeedway, Staten Island, NYC is always packed with giveaways and prizes which really makes it a special event. I'm looking foward to racing and can't wait -j
P.S. sorry in advance to Sr. since we always end up door to door at these things. the 'vette is a bit of a tank in traffic...

We had a few more late entrees sign-up last night, so again, if you haven't registered yet, please let me know. I would like to have the computer ready to go by 11am on Saturday. (I hate planning summer races! No one knows what they're doing until they 1) check other plans, and 2) check the 5 day forecast!) I'm ready to go to Early-Spring and Late-Fall Nationals!
Jack - How do I get on your list of pre-apologies? Hahahaha!
Don't forget: Anyone running Overland / Monster, please bring some kind of small (or big?) obstacle? I'll have some as well, but the more, the better. Something quick and easy to move, and that doesn't make a mess. Thanks!
In addition to our excellent choices from Macho Nacho, bagels and juice will be served at 9am - on the house!
See everyone soon!
Al

Great race. Lots of good action... Monster was definitely a fun class, but the obstacles were a little too extreme at times. Marshalls definitely got their workouts for the month.
At first I thought the race was too early... but afterwards, I was able to meet my brothers and a few friends for dinner and drinks, which was great since I rarely get the opportunity to spend time with them all together, especially on a Saturday.

Awesome Race Al -thankyou
Great race Sat. .The track was an interesting mix of very open sections and very tight technical sections. my car looked ok for about the first 2 minutes of the event-then I began the worst day mechanically I have ever had. First a capacitor lead was loose once that was fixed I had a problem with my wheels getting stuck at full right turn. I seemed to happen in the same section of the track and also I may have had glitching w/ the 2.4 . Crop may have had the same glitch problem in the same part of the layout. wierd -j

Thanks to Al and to everyone who was able to make it. This was the first Summer or WinterNat event that I was able to attend. I'll be attending the WinterNats, that was fun.
I didn't see the posts with the shots of the new setup so it was a surprise to me. If Tom hates it I usually like it. I think that was a great setup, very fast in the fast sections and very challenging with all the transitions. The sweepers after the straight were so fun to fly through. The twisties were tight and you had to hit them right to keep any kind of speed. Another great track setup...
Congrats to all the winners, and thanks to all the guys in the stock B-main for a clean and fast race. Marty, you really gave me a run for 1st, Lambo v. Lambo! I'm glad your car was an easy color to see on the track, I was trying to keep track of you. We have been racing really closely for weeks now. I really had to drive to stay in front for the last minute even though I didn't want to push too hard, and that finish line looked like the MO course with that huge pile up in the final turn before the finish line. I really had to pick my way through carefully to get to the loop first without nailing anyone. That was fun...
MO was nuts! The big tabletop jump was almost 4 times the height of my Escaload, luckily I race some off road so I was often able to smoothly downside the jump and save the Marshals (bless you all and THANK YOU, I did say just kick it...) some grief. Phil was out there, bulging disks and all. I hope you can still move Man! I think that trophy should spend a week in every MO driver's house, George and Frankie can keep it for 2! That's how the Stanley Cup is loved, and that Main was more like a hockey game than a race. Every lap was like a shift on the ice, I could have used a seat, a towel and some water. For the next MO race I'll bring some of my old sticks for us to marshal with. I take a few of my brother's old one's too so there are lefts and rights.
Thanks to Jack for that picture perfect Quesadilla, Stu asked if I was going to finish it. He tried
I'm looking forward to next Saturday, the Points Series wrap-up should be another fun night.
Oh and Al, keep on letting me win Nascar decals in Action raffles. Hooters always love company, I'll need 2 more Monte Carlo white bodies now...

Hi everyone! What a great day Saturday was. So many great races, and lots of laughs as always. Thank you to all of you who came out and enjoyed this layout and the event. I had a great time, and we will be sure to plan an amazing Winternational event as well! The layout is still down, and we'll run it this week, including the points series wrap-up this coming Saturday. It should be a great night of racing!
Eugene - I was a little nervous about starting early, too, but I didn't want to run it too late and kill everyone's day and night. We actually had company at my house on a Saturday night, which is unheard of! (If I did not have company, I was ready for a Saturday night enduro!) It's nice to shake up the schedule every once in a while and give people a chance to do something they haven't done in a while, so I am glad it worked out for everyone.
George and Frankie - Thanks for coming. It was a pleasure having you both, as always.
Stugotz - Congrats on your trophy, and moreso, on your chance to take another picture with Miss Action RC.
Shafiq and Eugene - M/O was awesome! I had so much fun! I learned alot about how to make some obstacles for next time (because there WILL be a next time!!!) Both of my trucks (Adam, Johnathan, and Phil ran my extra) were 6 tooth stockers with locked diffs set up for crawling, which made them very slow, but they were steady and made it over every obstacle. I got pretty good at landing the jumps, and I cannot wait until next time!
Jack - Thanks for the excellent grub, as always. ARCMS absolutely has the best track food!
Dave - I'll have pics up soon. Mike put some vid's up on youtube already. If anyone has any good pics please send them to me. The more the better!
I'll have a full write-up soon!
Thanks again, everyone, for an awesome event and a really fun day!

Shafiq - Just to clear up something you said that could lead to HUGE and unnecessary controversy, NO ONE saw the layout until 9am Saturday morning. There were no pictures posted, unless someone was at my door at 3am with a camera and I just didn't see them. It was a surprise to everyone. I was the only one who saw it, and even I didn't drive it Friday night after I put it down, so NO ONE drove it or saw it until the morning of the race. Just want to make sure everyone knows that there were no posted pictures of this layout prior to the event!

I wasn't on the computer the morning of, it was a very early start for the drive. I just didn't get a chance to see. I figured a few had an idea of what they were getting into before they arrived...
Anyway, one of the reasons I like racing at Action is the constant track changes, I think it makes us all better.

I agree. I like to keep us all on our toes by changing the layouts. I wouldn't like if someone new came down and had to race against a bunch regulars who are very used to a certain track layout.
And again, NO ONE saw the track besides me prior to 9am, or had any idea what it would like like. (Heck, at 2 am even I didn't know what it would look like!) The only thing I had in my mind prior to the race was that I wanted that big wide hairpin at the end of the straight and a long inside straight. Other than that, I made it up as I went along. (I didn't tell anyone aboutt he straights, either!)
