Xmod have their purpose, they get people into the hobby as they are cheap, and widely available in shops. I started with a gen 1 Xmod a few years back, really enjoyed doing it up with GPM alloy, it looks imo great internally (handles like a piece of poo though, and the body shell's arent great). My evo handles better, and is a good development of the gen 1, whilst still being a cheap hobby car.
Now I'm into the hobby more and have moved on to iwaver and Kyosho MR-02's, but I still have my xmods to do crazy stuff with. But the difference between even my IW02 (which I have never had any problems with) and the EVO is still great, the EVO is like a toy against the Relatively hobby like IW02
