Remote Control upgrade

hi, i have been palying mini-z for like 2 months and i'ver been thinking abt upgrading my remote, i think the stock remote is kinda an on/off control (is it??) the throttle control is not very proportional, and the signal seems not as strong as other futabas, so i wonder should i upgrade to a better control, or the stock one is good enouhg for mini-z, if upgrade it the way to go, is the futaba MJ ok?? or i needa go for an expensive KO??

The kyosho controler is NOT an on off control, the Perfex Transmitter is actualy pretty dang good, its better then my first "good" transmitters are... and a lot of other transmitters out there. If you want more/better it will cost you...

The only way it would be an ON OFF Trans is if you have one of the FAKE mini-z... or a palm runner, or a fake palm runner . http://mywebpages.comcast.net/dracon...akeMini-Z.html

WHAT THE F....... ???

On/off control ? Not very proportional ? No range ?
The solution/upgrade is simple:

The thing YOU've got is NOT a Mini-z. It's called a palrunner. A patheticly overpriced toy, outperformed by any Nikko or the likes.

Donate that thing to your kids (if you don't have any, give it to the neighbour's) and buy a Mini-z.

The Mini-z comes with a rather good transmitter (TX) with adjustable steering rate. The batteries are licated IN the handle, instead of UNDER it. This gives a good balance-feel. It is proportional like any other, and it is actually so good that I use it with all my r/c cars.
Including the old 1/24 Tamtech and no less than two 1/10 electric Tamiya cars and one 1/10 fuel Tamiya car.

I'M SURE I GOT THE RIGHT ONE LA! mini-z ma, no way i'd mix it up with other r/c car, have u guys tried other controllers like the ex-1 or m8, they gets a lot more control setting, even the MJ have end point control and individual steering setting, that's what i'm talking abt, dun u guy think that the diff between full throttle and 80% throttle is not really noticable one the stock control, and when u set the steering trim, then left and rite steering limit become uneven?

Yes, I agree... It's not too noticable... It just increases the car slightly. But personally, I think the stock controller is quite good tho..... But it's really up to you whether or not you wanna change the controller.

Off topic: OverRev, your cars (1:1) are nice.....

actually si model is defined differently in CAN and US, like the si civic coupe in US is DOHC vtec, but in CAN it's Named "SiR" (same as jap) and yes i think my EG is a 4 or 6, cos it is SOHC vtec, but still called Si in CAN! pardon me if i confused u! ~_^

Yap! MJ is a good upgrade of TX. The price is reasonable and much better control than the original one.

In Hong Kong, many players use KO EX-1 and Sanwa M8.

OverRev, depending on how much you want to spend, you may want to look at the M8 + Mini-Z Module. That's what I use, and it's amazing!

Yeap.
The controller can help you a lot when you're tight to have the car fix while having races.

A lot of fine trims can be used when you are on the driver stand already~ where Megatech junior/Stock control can't make it

i think i will go for the MJ 1st, cos i'm going back to HK this X'max, then i'll buy a 3PK or EX1R, and modify the mini-z to be FM, so the price is reasonable (3pk in Van is like 700CAD included taxes), i found the MJ is only 150CAN included taxes and it's lighter in weight so i can hold it and play continuously!! ~_^ thz for all u guys' advices, and Tango u're a bz tech, post on both HK-mini-z club and US-mini-z forum!! ~_^
