I'm getting an itch . . .

As said, I'm gettin an itch to sell and replace all my racers. I currently have 2 MR-02's, MR-015, MA-010 and a MR-015 in progress which I feel are too many cars. In addition to this, I want change by not seeing the same cars over and over and do want to go to 2.4GHz.

I'm thinking of selling for the following prices. My cars will stay stock, or slightly modded to get rid of some incomplete parts sets as I do have some OCD over incomplete things.
  • MR-02 x 2 - $70 Each
  • MR-015 - $65
  • MR-015 Incomplete - $55
  • MA-010 Chassis Kit - $100 (Extra Rims I think would bump up to this price)

I'd probably replace this with buying a MR-015 ASF and MR-02 ASF only.

Do you guys think this is the right mindset, or am I just a spoiled brat?

Stay AM. AM runs fine. I won the A at action in 02 with AM while everyone was running 2.4. Just learn more about setting your car up, and focuse on driving!

Hope to see you soon..

It isn't as much of winning as having too many cars. I'm positive I will be getting rid of my MA-010 and the extra MR-015. While I was thinking this, I figured to sell most and start off fresh. I guess I'm under the image of having too many cars and not enough money to keep them running competitively. A good downsize should set me straight, I hope.

I'd say i'm sort of in the same boat...my problem is that I've become addicted to building MR02's and now I have 10 full and 2 in progress.

I'm thinking of heading towards having a whole bunch of bodies and keeping two MR02's...one in stock fet and one mod fet.

I've been watching some of the BST threads and you're pricing seems reasonable.

I would strip them down of parts you would want to re-use... then sell them relatively stock for the prices you have listed. The prices are very reasonable.

Purchase the 2.4 module and adapter for your transmitter... Focussing on less cars is better. I try to work on one car at a time.

I prefer ASF much more than AM, mainly due to the glitching and crystal conflicts. I barely have any delay with my reverse, which is really the only drawback that I see to ASF. AM is still very competetive, and a good setup means much more than what electronics are in the car. I can drive much closer to the corners and other cars with an ASF car than I can with an AM car that I have to second guess whether it is going to get a glitch and crash...

One thing that I do like about having a fleet of cars, is that I can build a car for a specific setup... and dont have to change it much to try different bodies. If I want to run a different wheelbase, then you have a different chassis that is setup for that wheelbase. When going to a race on a new track, i can throw down a few cars and see which runs the best initially... then work from there to get the car setup for the race. Right now I have 3 MR02's, 94/98 stock, 98 70t pan. As well as 3 MR015's, 94, 98 MR02 track width conversion, and a 94 standard track. I have one MA-010 right now, but may get another in a little while for 70t class...

Know what classes you plan to use the cars that you are building, and build them accordingly. Keep the parts you can re-use, so you dont have to buy at retail.

Thanks for the replies, guys!

I have been watching the FS threads, and I'm pricing my cars accordingly since those prices don't seem horrible. I will start by selling two, see how the market and my mentality is and then possibly get rid of the rest of my AM. I never even had a class in mind when building my MR-015, and my MA-010 just never got upgraded as parts are expensive.

I would keep as many cars as EMU, but I'm not nearly as professional or active to really give reason to own many cars for different tracks. Right now, I can't even justify buying a set of MM T-Plates and front spring set for my MR-02!

Hi MINIz guy11.
As I can read, you have a budget issue and want or have to downsize in order to maintain in top conditions one or two cars the most.
First, if you cannot afford more than one or two cars, perhaps only one, you are right in selling the others; I definitely would do the same. As a fact, I only have one car and really do not need any more, since it is AM 4WD no glitching or any other issues with it, and I do not like 2wds, and see not a good reason to throw extra money on a 2.4Gz.
Why do not keep the one or two you really like the most and sell the rest? If thru selling those you can buy a 2.4Gz go ahead, but you must first make yourself this question; do I really need it or do I want it????
If you decide not to by a new car because you “don’t need it” invest that extra $ in restoring the one you decide to keep, and perchance some $ would be left in line to up-grade some parts or save it for the future when you will have to buy some tires, batteries and so on.
Hope this help in line for you to make a decision.
Cheers

Yes, I see you are talking about.

I've currently just made a big thread, selling many things I have no use for. My budget would expand a little from this sale.

With selling all my cars and then buying 2.4GHz is a want thing and not a need thing. I was thinking of selling all my cars, and then coming back with 2 solid cars that only driver error could blame for bad performance.

I think I was missing the fact that I did not have enough parts to setup a solid car, and got too frustrated. Hopefully a T-Plate set and front spring set will allow me to finally setup my MR-02, as this $20 will be a lot cheaper than facing the huge loss of selling everything and coming back with 2 ASF cars.
