AWD Offsets and Parts for a Newb..
Hello,
I hope this isn't a repost. Anyways, I bought a Spec.C Impreza AWD RTR from the MZR store, and was wondering what offsets the wheels are, and any reccomended upgrades. I plan on getting atomic and PN parts later, but is there anything Kyosho makes best for the AWD? I have the opportunity to buy some parts before the car arrives. There is a hobby shop which is an official kyosho retailer called U L T I M A T E H O B B I E S.com Anyone know about 'em? Thank You!
Edit: I have a ton of 130 Tamiya Motors lying around. Can the FET's handle them/what's the limit? I could always go with a woah nelly

kyosho sells a wheel set that has all their available offsets however i don't really care for hte kyosho stock wheel design so i bought the equivalent of atomic awd wheels which are sold in pairs. you can find atomic and pn awd wheels in many available offsets and are sold in pairs typ.
the atomic ti drive shafts have been recommended as well as the atomic parts with cup ends. the stock diff has a tendency to strip the gear teeth after awhile so the atomic ball diff (not the all alloy one) comes recommended as well.
other than possibly ball bearings, i think thats it for a basic setup that should be durable.
i don't have any pn parts so i can't comment on those.

Kyosho parts are probably just as good or better but they are typically more expensive.

I see, so anything you would buy that people know is faulty from kyosho? Anyone know the stock wheel offsets or FET Limits? Thanks!

here is the stock set of wheels from the chassis kit

kyosho also makes upgraded drive shafts and the cup things but they are much more expensive than atomic or pn.

Well, i went to my not so local (20 Mins. Away) Hobby Shop, and was amazed at the sheer size and stuff they had at the store, from Fujimi models to traxxas to JDM option and Initial D DVDs, along with tons of miniz parts!! I would totally reccomend them. I picked up the Kyosho AWD Ti64 Driveshaft and a xanavi Fairlady Z Super GT(JGTC) Shell for 20 bucks. I'll post pics when I get it on the chassis. Now I plan on some more kyosho parts (minor) and some other brand stuff. I really want a SAS from atomic, and I don't even have my AWD here from the store yet! C ya!
P.S.What motors can I run in my Z without FET Upgrades? I have 5 tamiya 130 Motors, and a couple motors that require a woah nelly....

Dead post ressurection!
Still wondering what motors I can use.
Now for my real question, which of these GPM 8s work with wide rear tires, and I might use atomic 20s in the front. I have wide rear tires.

Is there a difference?
Are topcad wheels good. I plan on those, and most productes on ebay from dIn ba ll. How long is it from HK to CA, US?
and anything else you would use for an HFAY OLPS race? Stock class. I have a Ti 64 driveshaft. That's all becuase I can't use any other motor. I have quite some money BTW. I really want some aluminum suspension/ gears, and an SAS.

the subbie has 0-offset narrow wheels. personally i don't think the 0-offset wide will work for the rear. you'll probably need a -1 offset for the rear if you want to run wide rims in the back.
i have a set of blue alloy 0-offset narrow that i don't use since I'm only using the kyosho alloy i have, so if anyone wants shoot me an email.

Well, instead of making another thread, I'll ask here. I wanted the Lexus SC430 white body or the Altezza 280T white body, and my decision lies upon what offsets each uses. I know the SC offsets for the Autoscale, but is it different? Thanks!

i use +0f/+2r for the sc430. you will not be able to do this for the atlezza. if i recall correctly the altezza was +0 narrow for both front and rear.

This is on the AWD, correct? If so, thank you, I may even as well buy both.

for the superGT sc430 you just run the same offset as the Xanavi Z.
the Altezza is a lot narrower. +0 narrow front and rear.
