Now that I have learned the "secret handshake" and gotten past a somewhat irrational fear of spending three days in what seemed like the bar scene in the original "Star Wars" movie (but on steroids) I vow to have eliminated all the glitches that tripped us this year. Not that there won't be new ones but Raymond and I are already in discussion on improvements and streamlining for next year.
If you are east of the Mississippi and considering getting out of the hobby, don't. When this event rolls around next year your decision to stay involved wil bear fruit if you attend. If you are west of the "Big Muddy" start now recycling cans, mowing lawns, babysitting, boosting cars, what ever it takes. Plan for it. It will be the event of a lifetime. Besides, most of the California guys will probably find the costumed contingent as normal left coast street garb. Seriously though, this type of event and format will be a big part of the future for our hobby. It puts us in front of the highly disguised demographic group that the larger companies are trying to reach. We get them for free and don't have to share. Think about it and start planning for early November next year.
