the mini van race was tons of fun! i actually thought these handled better than the classic car bodies we chose for the previous body class race.

thanks to all those who could attend, especially our friends from down south as they were kind enough to bring thier core unit with them.

here are the results:
A Main
1. VAzRACER - 66 laps
2. TALLGEESE - 65 laps
3. TheRinger - 65 laps
4. Soyverde - 53 laps

B Main
1. arch2b - 57 laps
2. a7i20ci7y and actionB - 43 laps
3. Peregrinari - 41 laps

for those that missed it, there were some great vans as well! thank you guys for taking this aspect of the event to the tops. i'll have pictures posted tonight to vote for a winner.

sorry i could not hang out afterward, i had family duties to attend to.

Hey Arch, just to let you and everyone else know the guys from Seven Cities were nice enough to leave their core loop with me for the next race.

I had a great time and I think the other guys want to do another van race some time in the future. Maybe we can set something up in the coming months.

You'd be surprised how well a properly setup mini-van can handle.. Due to the longer wheelbase they have {102-106mm}, they can be extremely stable if you run them on an MR-02 chassis with the right offsets..

I had a blast at this event, the racing was really close between all of us and that made for exciting racing.. I also had a great time meeting Action B and it was good to see a7i20ci7y again.. Going out for food after the races with Perigrinari and everyone turned out to be just as fun as the racing itself. I had an awesome time.. We definately need to get together with everyone from the 7cities Mini-Z club for another race soon... Maybe we could go down to race with them in the near future.. I'd also like to thank a7i20ci7y for bringing down the CORE loop so we could use the lap counting software for this event..

The only downside to today was that we did'nt have enough time to do all the racing we wanted.. Next time we decide to hold an event like this at Hobbyworks we should have it on a Saturday instead of Sunday.. I feel that due to the shorter hours on Sundays we have to rush through all the racing just to get it all in..

Yes, it was a fantastic time! I would love to have another van race in the not too distant future! They are a blast to drive! Thanks Jeremy for all your help yesterday (as well as Bill and Matt and etc. etc.) Wow, I feel like I am doing an acceptance speech. Jeremy, give a call if you want to get together next weekend or an evening some time for practice. If not, I will see you at the next race.

Tom

We got home safe and sound (I don't think I've ever been able to stay on cruise control for so long!). I had a lot of fun. Next time I'll have the Ecto-1 set up properly so it doesn't sound like it's about to drop the tranny every time it goes into a corner I'll also try to counter weight the roof rack so we can race with it on. Wish I'd had time to test and tweak.
