Buggies!

This is the official WDCGTG buggy racing thread. I'll update this and the second post with new information pertaining to racing at the club.

We need somthing we can throw down easy and store easy. Stackable ramps and sticks of PVC come to mind.

Just google 1080 single ramp. They have it here locally ~$30. We could also make them from cardboard but again, stackable.

What about the offroad RCP track pieces? Don't they just add on to the regular RCP we have?

I'd like to avoid using off road tiles so we don't depend on the RCP track in that aspect.

I look at it as somthing to do after we've finished racer stuff so a)one person isn't stuck putting everything away and b) no one feels obligated to stay because the track is still up and c) if we decide to do it on Mondays it's easy setup tear down as we don't need RCP to race buggies.

box stock class would be fun.
a track with a wall climb into a straight would be nice.

The buggy does sound fun. Found one on ebay, complete with transmitter for $279. Good deal? I'm trying so hard to NOT buy one, because I really can't afford it, but..... gah I want a mini-z.

You can find them without a transmitter here at the shop for $169. All orders over $100 get free shipping.

They're pretty fun but need jumps and a decent layout. A few of us have them and a few of us stuck around to talk about a layout. Some garden hose for the perimeter and cardboard jumps should work.

I'm going to have to search for some layouts online. I've only ever ran Mini-Z and usually a carpet track or RCP.

Thanks for that information.

Sorry to jump off subject, but let's say I didn't want a buggy and wanted a racer, what's the best way to go nowadays?

Ask around locally for a used one. Or put a thread up in the classifieds labeled "WTB" and ask for an mr-03 with transmitter. There are more people looking to sell than it appears in the classifieds.

I think Gary may be selling his. Joey might sell but maybe not if we get a buggy class going.
