Hey guys I just wanted to know how to take care of my ball bearings? I currently own a firelap, mr02 and ma-010 all with ball bearings and I wanted to know what should I use to clean and to lube them?
thanks
Use a small container and fill it with some rubbing alcohol. Soak your bearings overnite. or for a couple days. If you have a lid on the container shake it up a few times withs bearings in the alcohol.
I prefer to run them dry. Inspect each one before installing to check for any problem bearings.

Hi, here's another method to try:
An excellent way of cleaning and drying bearings as quite a few do, is to use an automotive brake cleaner - you can get it in a spray can. Just spray it into a jar a centimetre deep and drop your bearings in. You can leave them for a while but a few minutes and a swish round the jar usually does the trick. Once you have them installed back on a racer they are very smooth and turn forever!
Get a jar with a screw lid and you can keep it as a dip pot for maintaining the bearings - one spray can will last ages as you don't need to change the fluid in the jar too often, just once you notice sediment usually.
I heard from someone to use silicone spray for the bearings for lubrication. Is that ok for lubrication or should I just clean them with alcohol or brake cleaner and run them dry.
Is cleaning the dry bearings the same? What is the difference between the reg and dry that they sell here at the shop? I put bearing oil in mine after I clean them and they seem to run for a long time. I also bought the dry est from the shop. Thanks all in advance.
Unless your bearings were designed to run dry, you should always lube them. They'll run faster and last longer.
Go to a gun shop and look for Remington Wonder Lube w/ teflon, or any quality dry film lube you can find. Goes on wet then completely dries leaving behind a dry teflon film that doesn't attract dust. You're bearings will appreciate it.
