Isn't converting a MR-010, 03, or any other 2.4 Z for that matter to brushless just a simple matter of swapping the PCB with the new MR-03VE RC unit?
I haven't been able to find any information online regarding a conversion, but now that the VE RC unit is available for purchase, wouldn't that be the easiest solution for someone wanting to convert their buggy to brushless?
the board in the buggy is 2 pc and the circuit boards are shaped to fit into the chassis on either side. In other words, it's not a drop in solution. You'll have to work it.
have you had any experience/tried the conversion?
I bought a ve upgrade kit for my awd but the servos are simply different sizes (soldering them doesn't help, adding resistors makes it lose steering resolution)
But now that I've got a buggy it uses the same small (coreless?) servo motor as the mr-03 brushless, wouldn't this be a drop in solution?
except for the board size of course but i'll make do as long as the electronics works.
A couple of our club members (including me) have done a VE AWD...it is simply a matter of swapping the servo motors from an AWD servo onto the VE board. You must get the wires correctly soldered because with one less servo gear on the AWD you will get the steering action reversed if installed incorrectly.
It will require using an aftermarket TX so you can get full servo throw...one less servo gear means less less steering throw compared to an 03
You could straight install into a buggy but since the buggy board is a weird 2 piece design your creativity will be called upon for mounting the VE board.

yess just the info i needed, thanks! and yeah currently I'm using the VE board on an MA-020, had to nerf it anyway else it traction rolls on my home track.
after reading your reply I'd definitely rather move it to the buggy.
