Wow I wonder how track layouts will be for these cars. No more 3 Wides, since 2 tiles should be plenty haha.

my assumption so far is that the new lap timing sytems will read from below the car, instead of an overhead tower. this assumption is based on what the bottom of the car looks like, kind of a pcb board with a hole for transmitting a signal downward. i remember several members asking rcp about a tile grooved for wire to eliminate the bump. maybe they took that request and decided to put the timing sensors below the track and below the car as well. just a thought.

Amazingly cool indeed however I wish Kyosho had gone straight to the ultimate "Home Sized Racing Scale" which I think is the 1/64 scale, same size as the HO scale slot cars! With the 1/43 scale you still need to go through the track assembly/disassembly or choose to loose still a large portion of living or garage space. At 1:64 scale you can have a permanent track set up (to be made by RCP of course:-) on one of those cheap brown tables in any bedroom even. That would be a "true" home racer ready to go ALL THE TIME!
I'm sure that's where Kyosho will lead us in about 4 years from now.
If you think 1:64 scale rc is a crazy idea now, an rc car of this size built to scale with fully proportional steering/throttle & lipo batteries already exists and even though it's the ultimate novelty micro rc car it is not a racer due to it's unconventional transmitter design for one, but generally speaking not too far off. The car is now discontinued mostly due to terrible promotion & distribution. It was designed as a side project by an American electronics company that develops different wireless transmission technologies for industrial purposes. They were NOT an rc company to begin with and were trying to sell the cars through a full size car accessory catalog for $89 and they did sell-out their inventory.
For those who want to see more info on these cars you can go to www.bonzergear.com & click on the Metl Tech button.
Going back to the upcoming 1/43 scale Kyoshos, again I think they are great and a good step towards the right direction, smaller! The smaller the better.

The transponder is on the bottom of the car. But the transponder does not use any electricity. The timing system picks up the tag as the car crosses the loop.

this is very cool, I'll be adding these to my collection as well, maybe even a race class for them in our club if the guys are interested.
I sure hope that they will work with the existing Core Timers. I wouldn't mind paying for a software upgrade if that is available to us the already own a core system. .
it's amazing how small these are, I can't wait to seem some video of their proformance. maybe that can be the next sneek peak.

Well when the shop decides to take pre-orders, I know where my money will be going.
I just wish the cars had more "scale" wheels. I'd like to see the Gold mesh BBS on the 787 with the aero-dish attachments on the front.
What is that other white, Group-C looking car to the left of the 787 and the black one to the right? Is it the Sauber-Mercedes C9, or maybe the Mazdaspeed 787, instead of the Renown?

Funny you should mention the Metl Tech racers. I happen to have the BMW M3 version. Anyone I show it to,weather the're in R/C or not, is truely amazed. Then I take the body off and people can't believe what they're seeing. It's like a watchmaker put these together.(The worm servo) My Metl Tech racer is personel favorite in my Micro collection.....Like you said the smaller the better.

I have the M3's too in both white & silver, truly in class of their own in all aspects. The main point being that it's a car that makes you see Racing Class 1:64 scale RC is really doable even now. Specially with all the experience, technology & talent between Kyosho & KO. I know that day is coming but just can't wait. I hope it happens sooner than my prediction of 4 years from now. Possibilities of Table top hobby class racing at home or even small hobby shops are vast indeed & sound very tasty!

sweet
yeah, those look VERY cool, but i will still love my 1/28th's a lot because you can take them on the road, and if you hit a pebble it wont be as much of a big deal. but if you have a nice track, those would be a lot of fun!

The Dnano's have been tested and run very well on both the 50cm and 30cm RCP tracks. The 30cm tracks will be perfect for those with limited space.
