What are the proposed rules for a truck racing class? I’m planning on building something and want to make I start off on the right foot.
What wheelbase?
What wheel offsets? Racer or LM tires?
Don't quote me but I believe they are all the same wheelbase and not super wide offsets either.
Fly sells the BUGGYRA TRUCK BODY KIT WITH LIGHTWEIGHT INTERIOR at a reasonable $30 depending on where you shop. I believe most are buying from eBay sellers. You can occasionally find others at reasonable cost as well but takes patience and checking frequently. I love the gulf livery MAN If I ever see one at reasonable price that is the one I'll stick with.
I'm hoping the Remnant guys can chime in since they are leading the way and I'm riding the coat tales of piqued interest (I too love niche classes). I don't have mine yet but hope to discuss them in greater detail this weekend when I'm back at Remnant.
I have seen videos of some lexan bodies running on Atomic and GL chassis on the Mini-Z Garage book page... Looks like a lot of fun, just need to figure out the direction to go. Lexan or Fly. I definitely prefer the look to the slot bodies, but availability and cost might be a deciding factor.
I just ordered a red Buggyra body... will update more when it arrives.
I plan to model a 3d printed bumper for mounting the font end to the Mini-Z.
edit: Scalextric also make a 1/32 body which seems to be around $30+ ship BIN.

Looks like the bodies are made up of multiple pieces that all attach to the chair chassis. Will need to make a sub frame for it to mount to the chassis.
Interesting. With some 3d modeling skills I bet a 3d printed subframe that clipped onto a standard chassis could be made. I haven’t seen one of these assembled in detail yet.
Got my fly slot body in. Looks to be 106mm or close. 0mm front wheels, LM pod should work. The front clip for the Mazda is too long to fit..
There is little to no clearance from the side pod intakes to the chassis. Might need to do rear body posts here and it's going to need a front bumper. The material is light, feels more fragile than an autoscale. Window is lexan. Finish is autoscale quality.
When I find time, I will start examining how to engineer the sub chassis. It looks like it will need to replace the center section of the body that comes with the body. It's a good thing that shapeways can print in black... once I have the sub chassis finished, I will post it for sale at cost on shapeways. I might make a version that has 2 on one print which should reduce cost.
