There is a pretty nice indoor track at R/C Unlimited (formerly Castle Hobbies) at the corner of Bascom and Union. It is free, and they are going to put in a lap timer at some point.

Went by R/C Unlimited in San Jose today, and the PVC pipe track is gone. In its place is a huge slotcar track. I asked if Mini-Z racing was still going to happen there and was told that the slotcar track could be used for it. One less Mini-Z racing place.

Well, we're a good 30 minutes from San Jose, but we're always looking for new blood to compete with our locals on the peninsula

I'm confused. Why do you say one less Mini-Z racing place?
You can race just fine on their slot car tracks and they are pretty sweet tracks. The only problem, though not a serious one, is the tracks are raised so if you fall off you could damage your car. That being said, I have falen off many times and so far have not done any damage to my car.

The only other "problem" is if they have a group of slot car racers come in they will rent them their main track, but you can always race on the other one. :-)

I live in Milpitas. I haven't been down there in awhile, so I don't know if things have changed or not. I just haven't had time to race and then my younger son took my car apart to do a custom paint job and he hasn't put it back together yet!

If a group of us goes there again I'll send you an email.

Hey for you guys close to Milpitas and San Jose I have a track up in Newark up on 880 and we race on Fridays and some weekends around 530PM to whenever.

Let me know if you would like to come up.

We have a new layout every week and we are going to play some Z-ball as well.

It really isn't much but it sure beats racing around bare carpet!

I'm interested, too. It'd be cool to race somewhere other than TokyoTekki and sometime other than Sunday afternoon (that means I have to miss NASCAR racing).

Ouch weekdays. I'm gonna have to be counted out. I don't think I can take transit (lightrail or bus) to Newark.

I know what you mean about missing NASCAR...Thats a prob I'm trying to solve. Maybe I cam borrow my mom's mini battery powerd T.V so I can watch on the train.
