iWaver electronics with an MR02 servo...

Basically: What makes the iWaver servo twitch? The servo or the electronics? For a more in depth explanation, read on.

I recently had an iWaver with a 2x2 4562 stack and the servo twitched a lot and I sold it - the whole thing.

Then I burnt out a MR02 board by accident and I am left with the servo... I have just been browsing the net and I have found a iWaver board with 4562's on. Will this still 'cause the servo to twitch, or will it be fine as it's a Kyosho servo.

I don't want to fork out $80 for MR02 electronics when iWaver electronics are $21.50 with 4562's, brand new...

All help would be greatly appreciated.

Excellent. So I should not worry about getting the iWaver electronics and using them with a kyosho servo?

I will always recommend trying to find Kyosho boards, you could always try to find a used MR01 or an MR02 for the same price you'll pay for a new ESC.

I have an MR01 board in my AWD Mod car... works perfect! (and no double-tap reverse) Shop around... I've seen used RTRs sell on some sites for as low as $50. Just try to build value into it, even if you don't use the chassis or the body, you could always sell them off to get back some of the purchase price.

As far as the difference between the Kyosho and Iwaver ESCs... I think the main difference is that the Kyosho ESC's servo power is controlled by fets and the Iwaver is done by a rectifier. I have seen members change potentiometers on the Iwaver boards to try to get the glitches out too, can't say it's a sure-fire fix.

Just listing possible avenues for you... good luck!
