I don't recommend the longest wheelbase

After running my Monster this weekend with it set at the longest wheelbase setting, I now have 1 severed motor wire (the negative one) and 1 severed servo wire (the green one). It seems like the wires are just not quit long enough for the long wheelbase setting.
To give the specs of it, I also modded my shocks for long travel. I was running it on some rough and uneven sidewalk. It would jump the bumps between the blocks and on a couple of hard landings the problems occured.
The first wire that broke was the motor wire. I *think* it happened when I landed on my left rear wheel. It seemed to jolt the rear axle enough that it broke the wire.
The servo wire got broke in a similar fashion. I landed on the left front wheel and it jolted the front gearbox hard enough to pull the wire loose from the board.
Looks like I have some soldering to do now.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Nope not yet. We have a few soldering irons and a decent work bench at work that I'll use tomorrow. I also want to take a trip down to the hardware store to pick up some new wire for the motor. The servo wires, well I'm not sure what I'll do about that yet. I'd like to be able to replace them with something a little heavier, but that would turn into alot more work I think.
I'm pretty decent at soldering, but I still have my concerns since the servo wire broke from the circuit board. I think when the green servo wire broke it bounced over and touched the battery lead there on the back of the battery case too, I'm worried something might have been damaged by that.

Guess we'll see tomorrow.

yeah, i've worked on a few cpr units and the loose servo wire touching another hot point could be bad! good luck! by the way did you finish the silverado yet?
