After I read this my thought was, "Just buy one for the shelf, and one for racing", and then it really hit me, you would be in for $100+ dollars. Guess it's not that realistic anymore.

yeah this is definitely going to be a queen... till i probably get the chance to acquire another one... picked this up (along with some other bodies) last month in h.k. for 250hkd (approx 33usd)
price varies depending on how 'hot' the body is... got the bodies at different shops...
and they ranged from 200-250hkd (approx 26-33usd) purchased a total of 7 bodies
the lark was pretty hot... i saw two autoscales... in two shops... one was "not for sale" and the other was going for 299hkd (approx 49usd) shheesh...
i think i saw it being sold in other shops as a ready kit... but wasn't paying attention (since i wasn't looking for "what another ready kit?")...
was pretty sure that i saw the gulf being sold as a ready kit... cause i pointed to it and asked a shop owner if they had the autoscale... "out of stock" he barked back...
was lucky to finally find the gulf at a shop... whose owner said "do you want this one as well?" while pointing to the xanavi gtr...
"chaching" there goes my breakfast, lunch and dinner money....
was pleased to find out that most of my purchases were "legit" autoscales... meaning they were in their original packaging...
unfortunately 2 autoscales i bought, i believe were pull outs - probably from a ready kit and packaged as a autoscale...
the airalliance dbr came with the ford gt label on the cardboard backing... and the subaru impreza wrx sti spec c srtj 2007 katsuta autoscale came with the mini cooper label... lol...

Jeez, $33 is pretty cheap compared to what we're buying things for here. I so wish our family would visit Hong Kong again, darn economy.....

$33 dollars for the Gulf Gtr is a damn good price, Hong Kong prices FTW.. When I get one, mine will definately be promoted to "shelf queen status".

I thought the same thing at first, but I could'nt stand the thought of seing such a beautiful body get destroyed.. If I decide to race the Mclaren, I'll get one of the white versions and paint it..

aww come on, its a tough body, it won't get destroyed. so what if there's some paint on the body that didn't come with it, and some that came with it on other cars. The best looking body is one thats moving and you've raced!
on a side note, i was comparing my takata nsx to this and the mclaren is just barely a little longer. they are big bodies, very wide, the length isn't insane, it may be overkill for slower/stock cars though. On the reflexracing page there's pics of one that raced, guy did well with it, it was a faster class.
