Hello, This shows my surface drive modification to the Formula boats series.
It involves removing the power robbing strut propshaft assm and putting
the prop directly on the output shaft. This gives the prop more
RPM closer to the surface and allows the motor to run at a more
effient pace. I then made a styrene rudder that is much thinner than
the stock piece. I have noticed some cavitation at times, but man
does it run alot longer and is faster than the stock setup.
it also has the Aquaspeed motor and prop sets that I am still experimenting
with. I still have some hull tuning to do as well. My goal is to make these
boat run faster, longer and better without anyone having to invest outside
the orignal parts variety to keep cost and complexity down. I will post any
new funtional developments as I try them out and they work to my
desired levels.
Hello , I noticed your posts on the mini For. boat and I wanted to ask you if you think there is a hop up battery ? I wondered if a LIPO or LION battery could be used if so what kind . I also wanted to ask you where a improved propeller could be bought. Thank You Tim

hi there..
i've tried the suggested modification. the efficiency of the motor increases, run time increases. but i can't seemed to have the boat going faster that the stock setup. as a matter of fact it's actually slower
any possible reason for that?
