I miss it every day... Feels like a death in the family.
I still have all of my stuff, can't let it go... although the girlfriend wants the space that it's taking up in the apartment for her plants :sigh:
Someday soon I'll be back at a track... I hope.

Guys that race oval, can't do anything RIGHT!
Miss those NASCAR races... My am 015 was quick, with only 2x stock fets.

Beginner, looking for "the scene"
This thread is dead. Long live this thread!
Where do staten islanders race Mini-Zs, and do they race for speed, drifting, or some other set of rules (or lack of rules?). I'm looking to get a mini-z soon and am trying to weigh some options for which type I get in to, and part of that is to find out what others in the area are racing!
Cheers,
mortimerXIV

hobby heros in bruckner off the white stone bridge in the bronx is one place i go to regularly. they either run stock or mod, and nothing else really. there is also maj hobby in tea neck new jersey, and cruizin rc in central jersey. i have not been to any of those, but based on the videos that i see, they have a much larger track vs the table top track at hobby heros. the good thing about hobby heroes is that there is no fee to use their track. just run your car, and they know you will buy some kind of upgrade or setup part =)
edit: just found out maj is going out of business. hopefully hobby heros will see a influx of new racers and mini z'ers from maj.

I don't exactly live close to any of you, but I've been to Cruisin this past weekend. The track in the store is huge.. regrettably it has turned into a storage spot for larger RCs. I'm not certain he would ever start it up again.

Hi there. I'm in the middle of starting a track in Central Jersey area. It seems there's a good amount of people that want to race mini Z again. I'm still working out details on stuff. But I would like to have a track that everyone can enjoy himself again. It won't be as big like Maj s hobby shop was but it won't be small like at Cruisin RC.

Sounds good. I sold all of my mini z stuff years ago. Action rc was great because of the convenience. I since have moved further north into Orange County so racing is tuff for me now. Good luck with the track Tommy.

Jamil, there will always be a car available for you to race
I have been working with Tommy as a consultant to help get this track operational. We want to ensure that people can race with their old cars, or new cars without feeling disadvantaged or needing to reinvest a fortune to be competitive. More news will be posted as it is finalized.
I am hoping that any Action racers that still have cars in their basement (or would want to get a new car), would come and check us out. Initially we are looking at a GT hard body AAA and 1S lipo 70t class (to be run together but scored separately), and an open modified class to keep things simple. Of course, class structure is not set in stone, but we are trying to make it accessible by as many racers as we can to get cars on track. If there are enough racers to fill a grid of a different class, we can get that running on the track.
The plan is to operate as a club, and not have a hobby shop attached. That is too much to deal with for a small time operation at this time. We would like to direct racers to purchase parts at Cruizin with RCs, the shop here, Kenon, or Hobby Heroes rather than have to deal with the implications of stocking everything ourselves.

Nice....I’d like to see an Old Timers race for the old Action guys! I’ll check this site more often now.

I'd love to enter a stock type race. Even give my F1 a shot. Keep me in the loop. I could probably even get a couple of the guys from my group to show, save for the Non-Believers.
