Custom Nissan Calsonic Skyline

I couldn’t wait for the the new Kyosho Calsonic Skyline body, so I tried to give it a shot with my silver Skyline GTR. Tell me what you think…

Rear.

I’m still working on it, and just finished adding a rear diffuser. Now I want to a nicer wing which I'll put on top of the stock…I’ll post the pics when I'm finish so you can tell me what you think. Any more ideas are welcome.

Thanks wrcracer. Mini-Z CRT is just my “Racing Team” banner.

Wedginator, I’m actually using Beldecal clear waterslide paper with my HP inkjet printer. However, I’ve seen that the decals work best on light color bodies, and are mainly for show, as they tear up very easily. Do you know of a better type of paper for durability and what type of paper I could use on dark color bodies?

do you do a layer of clearcoat over the decals? clearcoat will save your decals.

wrcracer, I do spray the waterslide paper with clearcoat, as per instructions, but I haven't tried clearcoating the car after I place them. Is this what you mean?

efsee, you clearcoat the decals BEFORE application? never heard of anyone doin that... apparently it works. anyway, yea, clearcoat the finished body, it'll give the decals a protective layer, and also hide the edges of the decals.

Wrcracer, thanks for the tip. I'll try clearcoating one of my cars and see how much more abuse the decals can take. And yes, you have to clearcoat the waterdecal sheet after you print it, otherwise the ink will smudge when you place the decals into the water just before application.

Wrcracer, you might be right. This is exactly what the instructions of the waterslide paper say:

"Spray your printed sheet evenly with Krylon Acrylic Crystal Clear High Gloss spray until the sheet has a shine (2-3 coats)."

Sorry for my ignorance, but remember I'm a novice. Is clearcoat different than Krylon Acrylic Crystal Clear High Gloss?

warpedkid7, those are the stock plastic rims that come with the Skyline, and you can buy the replacements if you want to.
