LM body would look cool, but for those of us with 1 chassis, not ideal. I don't have much interest in building up an LM car.

But I would love to do an enduro! If you do decide to do this make sure you post it with some advance warning for us non-regulars

Great ideas, everyone. Jeremy makes a good point about the difficulty of switching over to the LM rear, although if the third class required the plastic rear, and say, X-Speed motors, that's a cheap upgrade to 102mm. Maybe the third class for the Winternats should be Pan car Speedy 07BB, but the Series third class should be LM w/ plastic erar and Kyosho LM bodies? (I like this if we use Jamil's philosophy of doing something different from the normal third class, but I would do Pan Car for Series and Nats if we don't want to have to build and set up new cars.) We'll all talk about it Saturday. At this point, the easiest thing to do for everyone would be to run Pan Car for both - many of us have an extra car at this point, and the ML rear that most of us have works perfectly in a 98mm pan car.

If I use a standard 98mm mount, with a ML damper, then I can very easily switch between 98 and 102mm. It isnt LM, being that LM has a longer diff and wider mount, but should fit under the LM bodies with 3mm offset rear wheels. The DDS plate is also a little higher, but nothing that my trusty friend; dremel cant fix.

I dont have any LM mounts or diffs, got rid of them a while ago... so that would require getting a new mount and diff if we were to do an LM spec. At which time I would opt not to further pursue the class, and run something that I have more of.

I think that the LM class should be restrictive in body and wheelbase only. Chassis, mount/diff, wheel and tire choice should be left to the driver. This will make it a little more cost effective, since almost all 98mm setup cars should be able to run 102mm wheelbase with little changes (possibly only damper plate).

I like the idea of running a "fun" less competitive class for the third class. If pan car is gonna be the next series class, then I don't seen the fun of running it again in the Winter Nats. As far as LM class, most people will likely convert their current NASCAR body car, slap a LM body, change the wheels and tires. Yawn!!! I kinda like the monster /ol class because the fast guys weren't that fast, and it gave others a chance to take a photo with the pretty lady. This is a Semi-annual race and it allows us to dust off the "fun" class cars for once. Besides the enduro idea at the end of the point series race is great!!

Since there are still people that use MR015 in Nascar... The porsche 962 cannot accomodate an MR015 chassis. The Mazda can with slight modification. Dont know about the Sauber body...

I am digging the Pan Car 07BB class.

I don't think I fully understand the classes and entries though. There is narrow and wide. I have an MR-02 and I assume that means I have to run 'wide'. Right?

Wide is standard MR02 width or wider. Basically any body that is a 2.4mm offset on an MR015/MR03 narrow/AWD.

You can use an MR02 in the narrow class with the PN MR015 width conversion if you want.

Or you can use an MR015 in the wide class with an EMU track width conversion

Narrow uses either box stock or PN 70t motor with any chassis that uses a narrow configuration. You cannnot use an MR02 with standard width with negative offset fronts...

Its a little confusing at first, but I think its a good balance. The smaller cars are a blast to drive, and are usually close to the same laptimes as the wide cars despite usually having a slower motor.

I know its a little complicated but hopefully I can help.
Wide body used to be our 02 Stock class, and Narrow used to be our 015 Spec class, but since the 03 came out we couldn't call it 02 and 015 anymore. So Wide Body you can run any logical chassis(no F1 or overland obviously). So in wide body stock you can run an MR-02, AWD, 015(with EMU tower bars), and MR 03 as long as they all have the wide front end. Narrow Spec includes 015 in its normal narrow set up, 02 with the PN narrow tower bars, 03 in narrow set up and a narrow AWD. All Narrow cars have to run box stock or PN 70 turn motors. I know its a little confusing if you weren't there when we changed it to see the progression of the classes, but I hope this helps!

Thanks guys. You can also go to the website and click the RULES tab, and see the official rules, but Crop and Eugene summed it up really well. (I love having such well versed, knowledgable customers!)

Also, as I said in the other post about the Winternationals, please keep all discussions in the original Winternationals post if possible. (The original has "Winternationals" as one word.) We now have 4 threads about the 'Nats, and I think if it we stay in one spot we'll keep track of the duscussions better. Thanks! (I also don't want to be accused of monopolizing this forum, which I am not, nor have I been, but better to avoid even the possibility of this discussion or thought popping up! )
