HFAY BTE Race Event - Monday 12/27/10 [TIME TBD] - Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti, MI - Mini-ZRa
Join us for another Ann Arbor Mini-Z GTG on Monday December 27th, 2010. We primarily run Mini-Zs (2WD, AWD, and F1s) (MR-03, MR-02, MA-010, MR-01). But if you want you can bring your DNanos, Iwavers, XMods, Micro-Ts, and Epochs, etc. Some people even bring their rc helicopters and airplanes
New people are welcome as always! Everyone is friendly and helpful and we have lots of fun!
NOTE: here's the easy to remember URL to keep up to date with our events: http://www.mini-zracer.com/annarbor
Please bring $10 to cover the cost of the race night (one fee for the whole night of practice and racing - a great value!).
Reminder: You can now pay your entry fees online.
NOTE: Transponder rental is $3 for the entire night if you do not own one.
The event start time for this event is TBD (usual start time on Saturday is 7pm but we may start earlier on this event date).
Location of the event is in Ypsilanti, MI (just southeast of Ann Arbor). The address is:
3140 Carpenter, Ypsilanti, MI 48197
Reminder that Dojo 4 is now 3140 Carpenter - park around the back of the building and use the back door to since the storefront section is closed when we start.
------------------------------------------
Get your orders into http://Shop.TinyRC.com early and you can choose to pick it up at the GTG this Friday to save on shipping costs.
Post here to let us know what time you plan to come and what time you need to leave.
------------------------------------------
For this event we will be doing the HFAY Big Track Event (BTE) #5 with the following classes (NOTE: Rules are slightly different that what we typically run so please read up):
Overall rules will probably be the same or similar as HFAY Big Track Event #4 and strictly enforced: http://hfay.tinyrc.com/portals/0/fil...FAY_Manual.pdf
Below is a pic of the HFAY BTE #5 track layout we will be running.

Guys post if/when you are available on Monday Dec 27th so we can try to schedule a time that's good for everyone.
For me I'm off that day so I can probably do afternoon or evening. Biggest thing for me is co-ordinating with family stuff being that it's Christmas break for all of us. The sooner that we lock in a time the sooner I can plan around it.

Monday is the 27th btw...
And I should be off work that day so anytime is good for me.
Are we going to do the F1 event as well?
Also Norman, I have your motor oil... you forgot to take it back from me

Don't forget that indoor flying is that day from 4-8pm. I should be able to do early 11a-3p, or show up around 10pm.
I'll see how these can coexist.

Any chance of a time being determined soon for this? I might have a *special guest* so I need to know when I'd have to pick them up.

Waiting for official confirmation from D, but it's tentatively going to start at 4pm (maybe 3pm?).
And remember that this event is Monday 12/27/10 (not 12/28 like I originally have in the thread post title).

I made a stupid mistake in that it's the 24th that is supposed to be the day off, not the 27th.
I'm going to use PTO to take the day off anyway just because I mentally need the break. I'll see you there.

So official start time is 3pm on Monday Dec. 27th. We have to be fully finished and cleaned up by 9pm so that probably means last race is at 8:30pm.
Remember that we are doing the HFAY BTE Race. So there will be no qualifying. Just practice and get at least 3 people to race at anytime (give time for setup) (Maybe we'll do a signup sheet with desired timeslots).
Here is how I'm thinking the night will go for me:
3pm-4 track setup
4-5:30 practice
5:30 timeslot run F1 with at least 2 others
5:40-7 practice while charging race batterries again (& other people race)
7 timeslot run Mod race w/ 2 others
7:10-8:30 practice while charging race batterries again (& other people race)
8:30 timeslot run stock w/ 2 others
8:45-9:00pm cleanup and leave.

Soldering Iron
Can someone please bring a soldering iron to this event? I want to participate in Mod by just throwing my X-Speed motor into the stock car but I need to de-solder that temp sensor so it doesn't shut off ( from my bad driving ).

Sure, I'll have mine since I'll be trying to get my car fixed too, at the event. See you all at 3 :3

Wassupie?
It was nice meeting seeing and meeting everyone last night. After watching Deca mod his car all night I decided it's a big chunk of fun I dont want to miss out of.
I hope to have a base setup for next time. See yall on the forums.

Well after that unending disaster of a dps installation on the NSX I'm happy to say that the car is running BEAUTIFULLY. I was completely shocked to find that it was actually worth the trouble in the end :P
Thank you to everyone that assisted in that mess, huge thanks Okabe for working out the final kinks and fine tuning my Tx setup
