Just to test the brushless motor, i decided to punch this F1 outdoors although the TX Throttle is set at 60% EPA only. I am a little nervous that the car would crash due to the un-even road.
Anyway, before the run i made sure that i have enough ground clearance for at least a good hi-speed run;
Here is my 'outdoor' setup for this test.
I used just 4 ordinary AAA NiCad Batteries.
I took out a couple of Auldey Racing Tin tires and mounted it on the F1;
hmmm... ugly!
Even on the front tires;
I had to do this just to protect the original wheels and the under-chassis from the sharp cement so that it will give me at least 5mm of clearance from the ground. Obviously, there will be some changes in the drive ratio with the new rear tire diameter.
Here is she as i progressively increase the speed on each pass as i get to feel the road. Throttle is at 60% EPA only or it could be bye-bye F1
That's the link to your dyno run, I don't see the 80% outdoor run but I'm sure it will be impressive.
All this reminds me of the days when we used to fit giant Mamba Micros into Xmod cars -- one particular GSR member spooled the dyno to 100km/h at half throttle and shredded center shaft gears every run. Good times.
