M8 27 Mhz Module
Raced this weekend with one radio for my mini-z's and the same radio for my micro RS4's. If you've ever gotten use to one controller and tried to use another, then you know how I feel. It would be akin to taking your Audi TT in for service and the dealership loaning you a Yugo. It leaves an empty feeling because you know how performance and control feels. The Yugo will get you there but.........
I have used the Airtronics M8 radio since it was released, so I am a lot biased towards this controller. It is so sweet to program all your individual car settings once into the radio and naming the model. Race another model and change back to NSX or the 206 or the 360 and no further adjustment is necessary!!! The 27 Mhz module allows the best of 2 worlds, Mini/Micro and standard 1/10.
Thanks for making it available to us, Mini-Z!!!!!

Damzer, Mini-Z:
I also got in on this GREAT deal, but wanted to know if a separate module was included with the M8. I paid for the M8, but also paid for the Mini-Z module and need to know if I need to get another module to use with my Micros.
Let me know, and thank you for letting me in on this deal. It hasn't come in yet, but I'm sure it'll be here soon.
Thanks!

The Thunderer, the system you ordered is for use with both, and don't forget it came with a micro Rx for that new DTM SP/Mini-X/Kawada you've been eyeing!

West.F1,
Do you have an M8?
I'll assume you don't for the discussion that follows.....
The "module" allows the radio's transmitter band to be changed. Most M8 users bought it for the vast numbers of adjustable factors it allows the user to program. Some say it is overkill, to these people I say, some technology is gimmicks others are based on real would dynamics. The M8 is the racers choice in the U.S.
The module is just that, it is a small rectangular unit that plugs into the back of the radio. It is also the where you plug the transmitter crystal into.
It is simply great to be able to run the Mini-z with the M8, then change to the standard 75mhz FM module and run my Micro RS4 or my Losi XXX.
If you've run a radio for a long time you get used to how it feels and balances in the hand. You also get used to the features it allows you to control, or in the case of RTR kits the lack of features.
It's a matter of choice and preference and cost. In electronics, I've always been under the impression you get what you pay for. Right or wrong, all I can say is that for the most part this has held true.
I've given you more than what you asked for but there it is without pics.
Approximate U.S. street pricing, M8 radio $300, module $80

You guys waiting for the M8 or the module... you WON'T be sorry. I was part of the last group buy and I love my M8! I sleep with it over my head... LITERALLY!

...Hmm, should have gone with (a).
