how do kyosho 20deg tires work? they seem to hook up well on my rcp.
any updates on the breakdown of preregistration numbers?
Arch,
You're right. 10deg/20deg is a common setup with our drivers here but a couple are shifting down one to 8deg/10deg. They happen to be the faster drivers but I can't say that the softer tires are the reason why they are winning.
IMPORTANT: We will be running the track with the rough side UP. We have in the past run smooth side up when we changed the layout in our winter series to mess with everyone (challange them) . We figured that the rough side UP is design intent and most common so that is what we are running.
No problem. Lets keep our fingers crossed that someone will step up and provide dinners for everyone. At the very least The Green Turtle has promised some wings to pick at.
Thanks for the info about the tires...I'd perfer to run the rubbers since I'm used to them, but was curious about trying them
Heard some talk last night at Action R/C about others coming down...I know I'll be down - gonna send my registration in the week, mr02 and F1, and I know one of buddy's is gonna be coming to race his F1 as well..

Just recieved another F1 registration today so I think we are sitting at 4 now. So if others are in the mail then I think we will be racing F1s for sure!!
I'll post a run down of entries at the end of this week.
I'm going to run Stock, F1, and 18th... I'm sending it out today.
COOL. We'll be keeping a look out for your registration. Thanx.
BTW: I just received a question on rctech from a guy trying to find a hobby store in Maryland that carrys MiniZ. I am fairly familiar with the local hobby stores and the only one that comes to mind is CWhitts. I vaguely recall Mimi's carrying some stuff but I think CWhitts has the best in-stock selection of kits and parts.
MiniZ Stock 12
MiniZ Mod 4
MiniZ AWD 3
Xmod Stock 6
1/18th 7
MiniZ F1 4
I'm going to be out of the office for a couple of days and may not have email/internet access until Friday. If we get a influx by then I will post updates.
T-shirts have shipped and I will post a pic on Friday.
With pre-reg now closed here are the latest tallys…
MiniZ Stock – 12
MiniZ Mod – 5 ( a couple more planned race day)
MiniZ AWD Mod – 3 (we said we would race it and we will)
MiniZ F1 – 5
Xmod Stock – 7
1/18th Stock – 9 (with another 3-4 estimated race day)
So we are planning on 9-10 heats. 60min per round (if running smoothly) means we would be starting the Mains around 3pm, giving the guys driving in a reasonable drive back home. Unless tons more show up race day I think we will be in good shape. Not too big of a race for our first go around.
Test run went well. No problems with 1/18th scale cars and I would wager that the MiniZ Mods will have faster laps than the 5cell M18s. I ran a 1/18th around the track and we decided to open it up to 3 tiles wide for most of the track. I’ll post a picture tomorrow on all the blogs.
Thanks to everyone for participating and we are looking forward to seeing everyone there.
Don’t forget that extra raffle tickets will be available for the premium items at $5 each or 5 for $20.
Food is looking positive. I’ll confirm as soon as we know.
