ALS Charity Race at NCRC Racing
Hello,
Wanted to introduce our club to everyone.
We are a solid group of drivers from all backgrounds that race here at work for "team building." Our company has been gracious enough to support this annual winter series since 2003. Employees have come and gone but we have maintained a healthy involvement. We are currently closed to the public but if you like Mini-Z racing you should check out the website ( www.ncrcracing.com). We have weekly race reports and end of season videos. Please feel free to email me with any feedback since I am also the webmaster.
We started out with only XMODs and now are at the point where some are racing mod AWD. We race on RCP track and use the CoreSpeed system, both very cool.
Arch2b was nice enough to start this forum so we could play up an OPEN TO THE PUBLIC RACE this October 20th. It is a charity race for ALS and we already have a great list of items to give away as well as our trademark gear shift trophies.
We'll be updating our front page soon with detials, but please mark the date.
Keep the rubber side down,
NCRC

It would kind of make sense to post a city and state. The website doesn't give one either. Good to have a charity but no one knows where it's at except the club members LOL!
Welcome to the forums! Looks like the start to a great club.

I didn't mean to call you out but I searched the whole website with no obvious mention of location.
Well the only thing would be the location located under your avatar but a track location would be nice.

kris,
We'll make sure to add location for the future.
Other than that what do you think of the website?

Charity Race Registration Open
Hello everyone,
I wanted to let everyone who is interested that we will be updating our website ( www.ncrcracing.com) in the next couple of days. Details for the charity race and registration form will be there.
In addition to that we will also be dropping off registration forms at local hobby shops in the Baltimore/DC area over the weekend and some RadioShacks in Howard and Arundel counties (local) for those XMOD drivers.
Should you have any questions you can post them here or email me directly.
More sponsors are pooring in (e.g. Kyosho and RC Car Action are the latest)
Hope to see your entry and we are looking forward to a great event.
Keep the rubber side down,
NCRC

Sorry for the late reply. I think the site is a great local site for sure. The forum is full of good resources but individual club sites are always a plus for locals.
Keep up the good work!

Kris,
Thanks for the feedback. I don't suppose you'll be making it out for the race?

Updated.
The website is finally updated. Contains all the basics (categories, times, etc) and details on our last season in the Results section.

Hope to see everyone there and looking forward to giving some lucky driver an autographed Cal Ripken Jr. jersey.
Cheers!

Food
Yes. Food pending.
We are hoping for free meals for each driver but at the least we should be able to have something on site for a good price. Rely on something a little better than hot dogs and soda.
EVERYONE:
Some questions from others...
1. Foam tires are allowed for ALL categories. Just no traction compound. I find that the Gandini tires work great on this surface. As for tire selection, if you don't have RCP experience then I would bring plenty of tires and springs. The track has a moderate amount of traction but I would say still less than carpet.
2. 1/18 Stock is: 5 cells and a 180 motor
PLEASE pre-register if you can. We are concerned that we will fill up becuase we only have space for about ~70 dirvers but if it looks like more are going to show up then we can change things around and find more pit space.
Thanks,
NCRC

Looks like we will have a 1/18th scale category. Plenty of interest from the local crew.
F1 is still unknown - no pre-registers yet.
Going to the 301 1/10th race and will hopefully plug our race more there.
Spectators will be welcome and will be eligible for premium raffle prizes with purhcase of tickets. Pre-registered drivers will get a a RC raffle prize ticket for each car entry and a single premium raffle prize ticket. Race day entries get only RC raffle prize tickets unless they buy additiaonl raffle tickets for premium prizes (e.g. autographed items and RTR kits).
Things are shaping up and looking good.
Hope to see you all there. Don't forget to pre-register to get your t-shirt and premium raffle prize ticket.
Salud!

Prizes, Prizes, Prizes!!!!
Drivers,
We just received a practical treasure chest of prizes from Kyosho for the ALS Charity Race and I realized that I had not posted the full list.
We haven’t received many pre-registrants and wanted to make sure you all knew what was on the list to give away. Probably the best list of items that I have seen in a long time for an event like this. Here is what we are looking at so far to give away:
General Prizes:
- Kyosho MiniZ Edwards RTR
- Kyosho MiniZ Harvick RTR
- Kyosho MiniZ Audi DTM Red Bull RTR
- Kyosho MiniZ Audi DTM Sports Team RTR
- Kyosho MiniZ MR-02 Chassis kits (2)
- Kyosho MiniZ workstands (2)
- Kyosho Promo Kits (t-shirts, MiniZ work-stands, key chains, etc)
- GRP/Gandini Promo Kits (pit towels, key chains, lanyards, etc)
- RC Car Action Books
- RC Car Action Promo Kit (hat, pit towel…)
- RCP Wide-L Track Kit
- AutoArt Promo Kits
Premium Prizes:
- Kyosho Mini Inferno Half8 09 Type 2 Nitro RTR
- Kyosho Mini Inferno Half8 Type 2 EC RTR (2)
- Cal Ripken Jr. Autographed Jersey
- Helios Castroneves Autographed Helmet
- Mario Andretti Autographed Helmet
- Sam Hornish Jr. Autographed Helmet
- Framed Kisten print of N. Piquet and R. Moreno F1 finish (Autographed by Kisten, Piquet, & Moreno).
Every registrant will get one raffle ticket for the general items and CoreSpeedway Transponders for each car registered.
MOTIVATION TO PRE-REGISTER:
Pre-registrants will get one raffle ticket for the general items and one raffle ticket for the premium items, a t-shirt
To increase your odds Premium Prize raffle tickets are available for purchase for $5 each and can be purchased by spectators.
More prizes still set to come in so the list will only keep growing.
Keep the rubber side down,
NCRC

Motors.
Berm,
Both Speedys will work but I would suggest you go with the 07 for obvious reasons.
Ones that will be legal:
Speedy 05
Speedy 07
MiniZ XSpeed
MiniZ Stock
Atomic Stock (incl R)
Atomic Std Grade
HFAY Stock
AWD and F1 equivalents for those cats.
If it isn't on this list and you think it should be let me know and I will check it out.
OTHERS:
I know a number of you showed interest in running F1 but I wanted to remind everyone that we need 6 PRE-REGISTERED in order to get the class in the line up.
The 1/18 guys have stepped up so there will be some racing with the "bigger" cars.
NCRC
