Z stopped going forward
My mini z wont go forwards! Reverse works fine. I have opened it up and had a look, couldnt find any loose wires so I ended up changing the polarity to the motor and flicking the switch on the remote. Now I have forwards and no reverse. I am running a stock set up with a BB motor (NO turbo). Any ideas?

sounds like FET damage, you may want to take the pcb out of the car and look on the bottom near the motor connection. you may see some damage.

Yeah, I had a look, but all seemed fine, no black marks or anything.
Is it alright to reverse the polarity of the motor? will this damage anything?

hmm.. is that a mzr.com bb motor? or is that a ball bearing motor??? let me know i've got a couple of mzr.com bb motors...
my guess is that it's half fried... guy at the track handwinds his own motors... had the same problem... only solution i know is to replace fets... unless you're ok without reverse

where can I get a fet upgrade, how much would it cost, and what is a good ammount of fets to get? If I do get it fixed I might as well get a stack put on too

Yep, My guess is half fried FETs. It won't hurt to reverse the polarity of the motor and flip the switch on the tx.
I've read about FETs frying with X-Speeds. Who knows what happens. Defective FETs or wiring? Improper windings on the motor? Was the car full throttle while stuck? It's a mystery more often than not.

floopyb, im doing my own fet upgrade, bought my fets from MytserE. 22 of the buggers. still in the soldering procces, got stacks of two and four, waiting to line up as 2x 11.
if you are confident of your soldering you can try. but mysterE, and NML have a deal goin, motor plus fet upgrade for the ultimate rocket.- expensive cause of currency rate, but worth it. i got my NML motor on order ...

FloopyB, where in Melbourne are you? I can give some assistance with your Z if you like. I have upgraded a few Zs now, and can most likely get it back to normal as I have some spare stock FETs...no more IRF7389s though. If you are interested, let me know here, and I will email you or something. I am thinking we can get your reverse back, then you can purchase some FETs from MysterE, and upgrade then...it really is a simple process for small to medium size stacks....MrE is the man for monster stacks. Either way, lemme know

I think I would like to only get the reverse fixed if I could get the fets upgraded at the same time. I might even get an F1 PCB from d****** then get it upgraded to a 6 stack of 7000s, but that might be just a dream since the f1 pcb costs about 110 without shipping.

Yeah I did that a while back...having brakes is pretty
As for your stock ESC, it is up to you ....maybe get 12 FETs from MrE for a 6x2 stack....I can help you install them.
BTW, I currently reside in Mitcham, but will be moving in the next 4 weeks. Where abouts are you floopyb?

I will be moving to the Kew area....hehehe...I work in Hallam!! As for the F1 PCb with pre-installed FETs, don't get any upgrade from d_inb@ll.....they are a rip-off for int turbos, and they use stock FETs, not the IRF7389. Just get the F1-ESC, but also email the shop here as they may have a better price in total (with shipping). As for FETs, MrE sells them for USD$1 each...if he still sells them that cheap. Email him to find out...esaflip@yahoo.com.

Thanks for the offer, I will look into the fets and the f1 esc. Do you think the f1 esc is worth the money? I have a bb motor from here, and I dont think I will go much faster that that (I like to have handeling!!!!).
