Xmod radio help

I don't get it, I can run an AM miniz with xmod crystals, but I can't run an xmod with xmod crystals in a miniz radio? I have the barricade xmod for my son and the stock radio is horrid. I want to use on of the KTs I have around for it instead. Is there some trick I need to do?

I've tried 3 radios, KT, Losi micro-t, and my 3pk with AM mod, xmod and yellow band crystals.

The Xmod AM-band receivers do not work with any other AM-Band Tx's or modules except for the Xmod Tx itself. Don't know why they made it this way, but there it is. One option is to put a Mini-Z PCB in an Xmod chassis, something many people have done actually. There are tutorials on here I think, haven't looked in a long time. But I understand you frustration MikeL. I would probably run my Xmods tenfold more if they were compatible with Mini-Z Tx's.

Thanks, I looked at the tutorial you mentioned and I can defintely handle it. Good thing 2.4g cam out or else I wouldn't sacrifice a working board for this thing

A friend of mine needs help on his brandnew Xmod.

The steering would work on only one side (if set normal - right hand driver) it would turn right but not left. If you reverse the setting (left hand driver) it would not turn left but not right. Any suggestions what could be the culprit?
