VTR1000,
I would like to race that track someday...is it there all the time or do they 'put it away'. What an excellent facility! What kind of building is it?
I love the 'pit lane'
Cheers,
Pianoman

Hi Pianoman,
itīs a little bit far away, but you are everytime welcome
The racetrack is permanent, but we donīt know, how long we can stay there, because thereīs a new owner
The building is a small part of a hugh factory (closed foundry, maybe you know "Peiner steelgirder"?) and we use the old canteen!
@ herman, the site works, I donīt know whatīs the problem
We only race "just for fun" till now, because we maybe have to leave this place....
If youīre interested, look at http://www.MiniZ-Racing.de, itīs the best lapcounter I know We only use the AMB for 1:10-1:5 (outdoor in summer)!
The track surface is chaep carpet, first the grey one, than the green on top of it and fixed with white cloth tape!
Sascha

mini track in Manassas VA
Hello all. I'm currently in the process of making a huge mini-z track at my office in Manassas, Virginia (about 30 minutes from DC). It will be in a massive area thats about 18x40 feet. Its got a tarpaper surface, with soft walls. If demand warrants it, I was thinking of upgrading to a digital lap counter in the future. Construction should be finished by 11/18/03. Let me know if your Interested in running, as I'd like to set up regular weekly races for fun or possibly a cash prize. Contact me at imergespeedway@hotmail.com, if you'd like to run. Pics to come soon....

RCP Track in SF Bay Area
I just tried a track at Hobbytown in San Carlos. It is on the second floor of the store and is pretty big. I heard they had their first race on Friday night 1/23/03. This is the first time I saw a RCP track and I have to say the quality is impressive. The staff is very friendly and they plan to have regular races. I think the next one is in about 2 weeks. Check it out.

We are sending a very large RCP track to the founder of HobbytownUSA and he is putting it in the corperate store. The track will be a large layout using the wide lane system. The track will be set up for all day practice sessions with races being held every week.
When the RCP blank tiles arrive, we will be sending them to this store to increase the lane width for 1/18 scale racing as well.
Soon after, a second track will be constructed using the RCP off road tiles. The plan is to have 1/24 scale off road and 1/18 scale Mini-T racing at the store as well.
The idea is to have two huge RCP tracks set up at the corp. store and have all franchise owners from all the 160 stores across the US come to test it out at HobbytownUSA's annual conference meeting. The hope is to spread the word about micro racing and to possibly get similar tracks set up in as many HobbytownUSA stores as possible. After the stores receive and set up their tracks, a national HobbytownUSA series may be in the mix.
