H plates available, and question.

Bill, good to see you again yesterday and thanks for the help with the tires. I ordered enough from the "other" site that I got free shipping . anyway, While I was there I also saw that they have the carbon fibor H plates for the MR02 RM in case you are still interested in running that. I am STILL looking for the ones for the MM though . I am also looking for the M8. We forgot to set it up yesterday. Oh well. the tires were a higher priority. Is there another transmitter that would work better than the stock but not be the M8? what about the EX-5 or Futuba's Transmitters? Anyone out there have a preference?

You guys need to check with Alex on those plates. I had the carbon Hplates for the 02 MM at the cup race here, but they were not permitted as they were not available from Kyosho USA. So, even though I bought them from here before the race, I was still unable to run them since not available through Hobbico. You may want to have stocker spares as well just in case they are still not allowed.

Since the stock 02 rear end parts kits were all snagged up, if someone broke a stock hplate, they would have allowed the carbon ones. But that was the only way they could be used.

I am hoping they will be "legal" for the nats though.

thanks latency, I did read your post on that before. I talked with Eric at the CP mini raceway and he has the CF plates on order form GreatPlanes. So hopefully they are now released in the US? I don't know but I do have a stock plate that I have not put on yet. I don't want it to get broken while praticing. I would much prefer to run with the CF ones though.

wow, that's disappointing to learn it has to be stocked in the u.s. inorder to be an elidgable kyosho part??? good thing the overland alloy wheels justy came in for u.s. stock before the races i attended. there is also no mention of that little fact in teh rules, i think...

this stinks of a pure money making ploy to me. they were lucky to have mr-02's at all for the first couple of races as the u.s. is always way behind in stocking kyosho products... oh well, what can you do...

anyway, good luck to those looking for the parts and i hope you do well

No question, it was always meant to be a pure money making ploy from day one, that's why it's Kyosho-specific and no 3rd party parts.

or potentially kyosho parts purchased from the shop as we all know this place is often the first to get parts here in the u.s. (excluding eb@y)

The way I see it, why should Kyosho care if we get them here or there? Either way, they get their dollar. I think it is great planes that is putting this restriction on it. if we can't get it through THEM, then we can't use them.

It is GP, not Kyosho - Kyosho is a Japanese company, GP is the US distributor (price inflator), there is no American Kyosho - so it's all GP as far as these restrictions. Luckily our GP rep. is one of the good ones so we tend to get things long before even GP-owned sites!
