Racer handles like DUKE

Okay, I have a stock mini z racer (Altezza) with an x-speed and top cad wheels/tires. The car absolutely handles like DUKIE on my wooden floor and also in my tile kitchen floor. Straight line acceleration is really bad and it corners pretty bad to. What can I do to improve overall performance ?? I recently got an OL and completely stock the OL can run circles around my racer. The OL handles like a champ, accelerates straight, turns "right now," etc. What can I do to my racer to make it as enjoyable to run indoors as my OL. I'm almost tempted to just sell it and give up. I do love my OL though. Any help would be appreciated ... thanks guys.

Mike

tyres

try GPM radial tyres instead of slicks on your wooden floor. THe radial tires have much more grip than the slicks

You can actually do alot to the racer. First thing I would do is get a read Diff for it. Kyosho is the best. this site has a good one too (get the ceramic balls). Then I would get ball Bearings for it. Then the softest tires I could get my hands on. Foams would work well on your wooden floor I think. You can experiment with the tires. This is enough for you to see drastic improvement. Everything I mentioned can be obtained through this sites shop.

super cheap way to just make the car work for you is to just make the front end really stiff. Washers to compress the springs or gpm makes a front spring much heavier than the heavy kyosho.
That should make it feel like it has more rear traction. It really just has less front.

but certain hop ups won't always work for the better..........different racers have different styles of racing.........resulting to different bodies, hop ups, motors, etc..........if you do hop up your Z........install one hop up then test it see if you like it or not then try install the next hop up........and test agen...........its a long process......but it shud help..........

the most overlooked hop up part are the tires... switch to a softer compound rear tires (keep the front stock) and your racer should have lots of traction...
